It’s time. I’m fairly certain that after this past holiday my body is made up of 20% Fondue and 30% Champagne. The other 50% is most definitely various forms of carbs and cookies. And if I’m being super honest, I need a bit of a reset! So here we go… a #pieceofcakedetox for anyone looking to reset.
I’ve done juice cleanses in the past and was hangry the entire time. I’ve tried various fad diets and none of them work. I’ve found that over the last few years it’s really all about eating wholesome foods and getting back to the basics AND the gym! I tapped one of my dearest friends Lindsay from Weeknight Bite to help me get back on track. She’s a holistic nutritionist, matcha addict, a lover of chocolate chip cookies, romantic comedies, and Sundays spent at the Farmers Market… so basically we’re twins. (minus the matcha addiction, I have yet to get into that!) After hearing over the weekend on snapchat that you guys are interested in a little reset/detox too, we decided that we’re bringing it to the blog! So without further ado… I’ll let her take it away!
Hi guys! I’m Lindsay, a holistic nutritionist and healthy food blogger over at Weeknight Bite! My take on healthy living is that it should be simple, delicious, and easy to maintain. It should make you feel fresh, satisfied, and energized, rather than stressed or deprived. It’s something that the real girl can achieve without any juice cleanses or calorie counting required. For me, it’s all about finding balance between my morning green smoothies and my weekends with my girlfriends indulging in ice cream sandwiches. In my opinion, enjoying great food with friends and family is one of the truest forms of happiness, and we should never have to choose between that and living a healthy life! So with that, cheers to kicking off the WNB x WGC Piece of Cake Detox! So excited to rock the next 5 days with you!

LOVE this! SO many great recipes! My kind of detox routine
Right!? The real girl’s detox! So pumped!
I’m pretty sure my body would have been made up of 60% … okay I like 70% of that Greek Wine and then hummus and lamb.
Reset recipes —> YES! BRing it! But also, these look FAB!
So many epic choices and totally agree with Lindsay’s approach!
So happy to hear that!
This is the best detox ever! So satisfying!
So many great ideas!
What are your recommendations for mint tea? Buying a good brand at store or tea leaves and mint leaves with diffuser (or whatever you call those balls you put tea leaves in?)
I just put fresh mint in some hot water and let it steep!!
Perfect! Thank you!
This doesn’t sound like it will be hard at all. So many delicious meals to choose from. It is just good healthy eating!
I loved following your Greece travels – and I love your approach to detox – I couldn’t handle juice cleanses either :). Your menu options look SO delicious and satisfying. I especially love the idea of mint tea after dinner – lovely!
Wow! Super Reset Recipies. I’ll definitely try all dinner ideas. I used to get hungry when I do the juice cleanse 🙁 so what I am doing is, during my cleanse I choose a half of an apple, orange, avocado or celery sticks and at the end of each my cleaning day, I prepare or rather buy healthy veggie soup. Will definitely try you veggie dinner ideas at my day end 🙂
All the recipes you’ve chosen sound delicious!! They won’t leave you feeling hangry at all!!
Thank you,
Pam
Such an inspiring list…this is how to eat well on a detox!
Ok fun is not funny! lol One should NEVER use CAKE and DETOX in the same sentence! Although I knew what you meant, for a minute I thought there was a nice little piece of cake during the detox period. Oh darn I ws wrong! Just teasing though!.
Thanks for doing this, ladies! How do you recommend modifying for pregnancy?
I’d ask your doctor but I think all of these foods are very pregnancy friendly!
OMG. I need a detox like I need air right now!! I can’t wait to start this style of living as soon as humanly possible!
I’m starting tomorrow and got my boyfriend to join in 🙂 will make it so much easier to stick to it! We’re actually thinking of doing it for 2 weeks so we can try all the meals!
omg amazing!! keep us posted on how it goes!
A great way to kick off the year!
OMG I needed this! Thank you!
