Culinary School Week 1 – Salads!

Jump to Recipe

So last night was the first night of actual cooking at Culinary School – and it was AMAZING! I am so excited for the class to get underway… Our first class was all about safety, sanitation and salads! We got to practice all of our knife skills that we had learned in the previous week (I think my wrist is getting stronger from all that cutting) and made 3 different salads all from scratch – obviously!

So the menu was…

Cobb Salad with a classic French Vinaigrette
Three Color Rotelle with Roasted Pepper – this is amazing – and it would have been even better if we had let all the flavors marinate together overnight and then had it for lunch today!
Classic Caesar Salad with homemade Garlic Croutons (YUM)Everything was great and I think everyone worked really well together – especially for the first real class! Next week is chicken so get ready for a TON of new pics and I will share some of my favorite recipes!
