The Best Guacamole

Jump to Recipe

Guacamole is my all time favorite food in the whole wide world. It is very rare that I come across a guacamole that I don’t like. A few weeks ago I tried some homemade guacamole at a party and it was delicious. After hunting down the person who made this to get the recipe, I went straight home and made it myself with only a few variations 🙂

The Best Guacamole

Prep Time 10 mins
Total Time 10 mins
Course Appetizer, Snack
Cuisine Mexican, Tex Mex
Servings 4

Ingredients

  • 3 avocados
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 1/4 red onion finely chopped
  • 1/8 cup chives finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp of your favorite salsa
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Mix all these ingredients together until you have a consistency that you like. Top with some extra chives just so its looks super beautiful and get yourself a bag of chips to eat it with... or in my case just a spoon because its so good it doesn't even need chips!

Try it… let me know what you think…and don’t skip the chives as they are the best part… it is delicious!

  1. I have some blue corn chips in my pantry. No I know what I'm going to do with them. This sounds delicious.

  2. I LOVE guacamole! And your version looks and sounds delicious! I've never made it with chives before.

  3. i love it too, but i'd feel bad about adding store-bought salsa to something I made from scratch. so if the tomatoes look good, I usually just chop up one myself, and add a bit of garlic. then I could eat guac every day.

  4. Justin – I know I feel bad too adding store bought salsa but the Trader Joe's Salsa Especial is just so delicious I always add it for an extra kick!

  5. I love guac too! Excpet when people put mayo in it to make it creamy. I don't understand that at all. i like it like this- chunky with a little salsa or tomato.

  6. Never used chives for my guac. What a nice addition! I usually use cilantro (which I love) but I like this idea!

  13. I am intrigued by the addition of chives ..have never tried this ..always used cilantro as well
However, i cannot substitute lime juice for lemon juice ..would not be the same!
I also add a wee bit of cumin as well …some people dont like cumin so this wont suit everyone’s tastes.
