Garlic Roasted Potatoes

Omg you guys! We have so much to talk about today. First, Happy Monday!!

A: How on earth is it already November?

B: Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Being the obsessively organized person I am, I have already planned my entire menu. (I did it in September) Itā€™s going to be epic, and Iā€™ll be sharing all the recipes here, well before the big day, so you have plenty of time to plan your menu too!

C: One of my all-time favorite people, Ree from The Pioneer Woman, just came out with her latest cookbook and I spent the entire weekend drooling over every recipe. Itā€™s called The Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays: 140 Step-by-Step Recipes for Simple, Scrumptious CelebrationsĀ and Iā€™ve decided that Iā€™m inviting myself over to her house for every holiday from here on out. Christmas, New Years, Valentineā€™s Day, Easterā€¦ you name itā€¦ all of her holiday menus are out of this world!

E: I made a batch of her Garlic Roasted PotatoesĀ yesterday and proceeded to fight my husband over who got the last bite. They are game changers ā€“ that is for sure!

F: If you haven’t already ordered yourself a copy, you absolutely should!! Like I said, this book is LOADED with fantastic holiday recipes for an entire calendar year, and each page is infused with Ree’s bubbly personality and humor. 4. thanksgiving is my favorite even over christmas love having my children and all the grandkids over for dinner.. 2005 Nov.27th day before Thanksgiving my oldest daughter was helping me make some make ahead food when the phone rang and it was my doctor telling me i had breast cancer…A day i will always remember but thankful with each passing thanksgiving that i am a surviver and i beat cancer.. so thanksgiving is very special to me and i make a great corn bread dressing

  5. Family is the most important thing! My little brother and his son were our Thanksgiving blessings! I look forward to my brother-in-laws shoe fly pie this year!! It is awesome!

  6. All of the great food, the great smells, being with family and friends.Since I am always the one doing the cooking, I enjoy when everyone is gone and then I have my own private feast, that’s when I really enjoy eating the Thanksgiving dinner!

  7. Spending time with family, especially as I don’t get to see them very often. The food can be made anytime, but the hugs and being able to sit across the table and see their bright and shiny faces can’t be done very often.

  8. LIFE (God) second chances. I’m thankful for the gift of life” Thanksgiving will be a time for me to reflect and be with friends and my daughter. This time last year I was getting ready for a major surgery and fighting for my life. That surgery saved my life. I had a foreign body retained sponge left in me from a csection 9 yrs prior, because it took so long to diagnose and remove I had damage to most organs’ seizures, was in a wheelchair for 6 years, mostly bedridden for 2. Everything was destroyed…..my career (Director/VP), relationships, marriage, body, hair/teeth…..family…….not to mention my daughters pain and the price she paid.well this year first in many I will celebrate Thanksgiving with special friends. I am still building health and putting pieces back together of everything……. but I am alive, I am here”…..I have a second chance at life.
