Garlic Roasted Potatoes

Omg you guys! We have so much to talk about today. First, Happy Monday!!

A: How on earth is it already November?

B: Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Being the obsessively organized person I am, I have already planned my entire menu. (I did it in September) It’s going to be epic, and I’ll be sharing all the recipes here, well before the big day, so you have plenty of time to plan your menu too!

C: One of my all-time favorite people, Ree from The Pioneer Woman, just came out with her latest cookbook and I spent the entire weekend drooling over every recipe. It’s called The Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays: 140 Step-by-Step Recipes for Simple, Scrumptious CelebrationsĀ and I’ve decided that I’m inviting myself over to her house for every holiday from here on out. Christmas, New Years, Valentine’s Day, Easter… you name it… all of her holiday menus are out of this world!

D: In honor of Ree’s gorgeous new book, she is offering up Ā 3 signed copies!! Boooyah! We’re kicking off Monday with a bang.

E: I made a batch of her Garlic Roasted PotatoesĀ yesterday and proceeded to fight my husband over who got the last bite. They are game changers – that is for sure!

F: If you haven’t already ordered yourself a copy, you absolutely should!! Like I said, this book is LOADED with fantastic holiday recipes for an entire calendar year, and each page is infused with Ree’s bubbly personality and humor. 1. Its Thanksgivikkah this year! Hanukkah and Thanksgiving on the same day. Spending quality time with the family and making new traditions!

  2. I love Thanksgiving! I am mostly looking forward to hanging out with my brothers, who I don’t see that often anymore, and also to eating, of course.

  3. I love to cook for the family at holiday times. My only granddaughter of 8 years old loves helping me in kitchen. I cherish those wonderful times with her. When the grandsons were little they always enjoyed helping in the kitchen. My 13 year old grandson Alex loves to help as well. I do enjoy watching your show Ree.

  4. I’m working on Thanksgiving. It’s our first “empty-nest” holiday and it will be truly be empty with us not being able to afford to fly kids home or fly up to see them. So I decided to give the holiday to those who do have family close and take the entire day at the office. So, we won’t be cooking, we won’t be seeing family, and we won’t even get to be a couple, but I am thankful. Thankful we are able to give, thankful we have family – though they be far away, and grateful to belong to the delicious man I married 25 years ago this Thanksgiving.

  5. I’m looking forward to hanging out with my family and the leftovers! Every year I have to have open face turkey sandwiches on the day after Thanksgiving.

  6. A devoted fan! Bringing my youngest daughter to Oklahoma from California for a Thanksgiving together. Love holidays with family!

  7. For the 5th yr. it’s just my husband & myself & are puggel Sheba & 2 birds, but blessed to have each other.

  8. I am looking forward to a big batch of Sangria and a day with family! Love having everyone out for the day and just enjoying each other!

  9. Being with family, being grateful for all that we have, as well as remembering those we have lost in the past few years. It is both a joyous and sad time, but most of all grateful for the love of family and friends

  10. Watching the parade with my husband & kids while eating blueberry muffins & homemade hot chocolate for breakfast (that has been the holiday breakfast in my Mom’s house since I can remember. I am continuing the tradition).
I love meeting with our families for dinner, but the breakfast is so nice & cozy. I love it so much. šŸ™‚

  11. I look forward to being with our growing family: daughters and their guys; grandchildren, great grandchildren. Plus all the rest: in-laws, step families. Thanksgiving dinner at my church. Blessings abound.

  12. Thanksgiving is tough for me because I’m not close to family and with the rising cost in airfares it’s to expensive to fly home so my thanksgiving meal comes from Cracker Barrel. Regardless, I’m thankful for everyday God gives me. And being able to talk to my daughter on the phone always makes the day brighter.

  13. My family members live in different parts of this continent and years ago, when my baby brother was dying, we made a pact that every year at Thanksgiving we would have a family reunion. We rent a house on the beach along the east coast of Florida and spend 5-6 days all together (25 of us). This year I will be doing all (or at least most) of the cooking. I love planning an event, doing the cooking and being with my family. Of course, I’m looking forward to the food as well. I’ve had a really good time on Pinterest and have come up with new recipes as well as old favorites. So glad I found you there! šŸ™‚

  14. Thanksgiving is just that for my family…a day of giving thanks for being together again. We have scattered across several states, but always return home for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Good food, great fellowship and the warmth of family and friends travels with us wherever we roam.

  15. All four of my kids will be home for Thanksgiving! Nieces will be here from Seattle and San Diego, and my brother will do a driveby on his way north early in the week. It’ll be a great week for family!

  16. Well, I’m a nurse and I’m working this Thanksgiving, but I’ll be looking forward to when I get off of work and can spend time with my family!

  17. Family, food, and football… And this year I will be the master chef directing 4 children and their spouses along with hubby, the how-to of making Ree’s mashed potatoes, hubby’s smoked turkey, and leaving the rest up to them (so the cookbook would come in handy, since I’m having total shoulder replacement surgery the week before, and will be in a sling… LOL)

  18. I am most excited for visiting with extended family that I don’t get to see very often these days. I think it will be extra special this year because it my first Thanksgiving spent with my husband, we just got married in June. And of course I am excited to eat some delicious food!

  19. Thanksgiving is all about family and sharing with friends. I’m 73 and for as long as I can remember my family has made the most scrumptious fresh cranberry salad for the holidays. Of course, we always make enough for leftovers.
