Being with family. That’s what it’s all about, being at home, cooking, eating, laughing, loving. It’s being with my family that makes me happy, especially during the holidays.

Pumpkin pie and family time!
I like to remember all my family who can’t be with me on the holidays. All the good times together, even though we may be miles apart, it is a great time to remember them in your heart.
We go to a huge family reunion out in the country every Thanksgiving and it is one of my favorite days of the year. Everyone brings a dish, potluck style and the food tables take up two rooms like a buffet! We get to visit with Aunts and Uncles we don’t see often and the kids usually wind up riding 4-wheelers or whatever else they can find. It is literally an “Over the River and Through the Woods” kind of thing.

My family!
My husband’s chair at the Thanksgiving table will be empty this year as he just passed away. I shall be cooking the same Turkey dinner as I did every Thanksgiving during our 66 year marriage. Oh how he loved Mince pie, but I’m a Texas gal (if you can call 87 years a “gal”) and it’s pecan pie for me. Yes that Ree is a joy to watch , and her recipes are winners for sure….Gaby, I am new to your blog but you are a new joy..tried many of your winners. Jere
