Garlic Roasted Potatoes

Omg you guys! We have so much to talk about today. First, Happy Monday!!

A: How on earth is it already November?

B: Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Being the obsessively organized person I am, I have already planned my entire menu. (I did it in September) It’s going to be epic, and I’ll be sharing all the recipes here, well before the big day, so you have plenty of time to plan your menu too!

C: One of my all-time favorite people, Ree from The Pioneer Woman, just came out with her latest cookbook and I spent the entire weekend drooling over every recipe. It’s called The Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays: 140 Step-by-Step Recipes for Simple, Scrumptious CelebrationsĀ and I’ve decided that I’m inviting myself over to her house for every holiday from here on out. Christmas, New Years, Valentine’s Day, Easter… you name it… all of her holiday menus are out of this world!

D: In honor of Ree’s gorgeous new book, she is offering up Ā 3 signed copies!! Boooyah! We’re kicking off Monday with a bang.

E: I made a batch of her Garlic Roasted PotatoesĀ yesterday and proceeded to fight my husband over who got the last bite. They are game changers – that is for sure!

F: If you haven’t already ordered yourself a copy, you absolutely should!! Like I said, this book is LOADED with fantastic holiday recipes for an entire calendar year, and each page is infused with Ree’s bubbly personality and humor. I’d like to jump right in and live somewhere between Christmas and 4 of July!

  1. These potatoes look so good, think I will try them this week for a test run. My favorite thing about Thanksgiving is making the delicious food and seeing the family all together, laughing and catching up on all the news. Just enjoying each other and being together!!

  2. We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here in Spain, but if I lived in America I guess what I would look forward the most would be the pies

  3. I really like Thanksgiving, cause all I have to make is the GF stuffing, my kids do everything else, love it!

  4. I love thanksgiving dinner and what each person decides to bring. Yep. No same ole thing. It is scouring websites and magazines to up the anti.

  5. Ree is a great chef! How nice of you to highlight a fellow artist! I’m most excited to enjoy traditional family recipes at thanksgiving. Some of my favorites are broccoli dish, stuffed artichokes and lemon meringue pie but I’m also looking forward to trying some new recipes this holiday with butternut squash. Yum!

Some of my favorites are broccoli dish, stuffed artichokes and lemon meringue pie but I’m also looking forward to trying some new recipes this holiday with butternut squash. Yum! Ps-I’m still excited about the brownies from yesterday!

  7. Most looking forward to taking in the moment when it all comes together…..that glorious feast that is prepared for giving thanks.

  8. I love your blog! AND I love the Pioneer Woman!!! The things I look forward to most are making my Mom’s cornbread dressing (it makes it feel like she is still with us), the Roast Turkey and Gravy, and REALLLY looking forward to teaching my grandson all the secret family recipes!

  9. I love everything about Thanksgiving. The colder weather. The warm homes. The food. The table. The pies. The family!

  10. Although I live in the UK I was largely educated by Americans, so have always been aware of Thanksgiving. Now I have lots of American friends on line, some of whom I met in Chicago in May, and usually make a gesture to celebrate with them, often I will buy a small turkey breast roast for two and occasionally I make a pumpkin pie. I haven’t planned what to do this year, as I have a singing exam 10 days before, but I have bought a pumpkin, so I’m looking forward to pumpkin pie or soup!

  11. Yum! Can’t go wrong with anything garlic and roasted. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and I’m so looking forward to relaxing and spending time with my family and friends. And of course the mashed potatoes and stuffing too!

  12. We give thanks everyday, so we don’t really have the annual American celebration. But choosing from the classical American thanksgiving menu (of stuffed turkey, cornbread, sweet potato roast, and pecan or pumpkin pie) I have to say that the pecan pie is what most appeals to me.
    Thanks for the opportunity Gaby!

  13. I can’t wait to see all my siblings! We only all get together for weddings or Thanksgiving, so it’s a huge plus!

  14. This is our second Thanksgiving in Germany. Last year we did a small dinner just for my husband and myself. This year, we want to invite some coworkers and friends and introduce them to American Thanksgiving classics like sweet potato casserole and pumpkin pie!

  15. Looking forward to having the week off after – being Thankful for my family and friends and maybe some really good stuffing & potatoes

  16. Yummmoooo!! This will be my first Thanksgiving in LA so I’m looking forward to creating vegan nom-licious recipes for my friends to try!

  17. I’m so so so excited that i’m able to go home for the first thanksgiving in 4 years, that both of my sisters will be coming home, that it’ll also be thanksgivukkuh, and that we’ll be celebrating my 25th birthday and my sisters 28th! so many wonderful things all at once!

  18. The thing I look forward to most is the food! My grandmother does the turkeys, her famous whipped potatoes, dressing and pies, one aunt does a tenderloin, her dressing, her pecan pies anx famous homemade bread, my uncle smokes a ham, another aunt surprises us, us granddaughters make sides, I make homemade mac n cheese, pumpkin bars, my sister does a strawberry spinach salad and we both attempt my mom’s sweet potato casserole but can never get it quite like hers. She was a great cook! We have about 35 people in my grandmother’s house for Thanksgiving. Chaos but the best kind!!

  19. Thanksgiving is our big holiday! We all get together and fry a turkey. The men handle the turkey while the women get all the sides together! Such a fun day for us. I honestly look forward to the whole day!

  20. I am most looking forward to see my beloved baby brother, favorite SIL, and adorable nephews. It’s been far too long since we’ve been in the same room.

  21. I love all the wonderful food and the smell that fills my kitchen! But none of that would matter if we didn’t have family here to enjoy it with. Thanks for the chance to win that wonderful cookbook!

  22. I give thanks everyday and always ask for the blessings of a good attitude and gratitude. 2013 has had its difficulties so I’m looking forward to being around family to lift each other up. Turkey, southern cornbread dressing and football is always a fun time together.
