Cheesy Avocado Bacon Poutine

Jump to Recipe

You guys. I’ve got a big exciting surprise for ya today! I made you a very special, extra cheesy, tomatillo salsa loaded poutine. I know. It’s decadent.

I know poutine is typically made with gravy and all that jazz, but I live in LA and there are still tomatillos at my farmers market! So I wanted to give this comforting dish a new spin. So I went ahead and fried up some french fries and then melted some cheese on top and topped it all off with a tomatillo avocado salsa sprinkled with chopped red onion and bacon.

I don’t know about you, but this just screams football food to me!Cheesy Avocado Bacon PoutineSo let’s talk about this blender for a hot second.

Have you guys ever used a Blendtec? It’s kinda a dream come true. It’s super powerful and it made this tomatillo avocado salsa in literally 16 seconds flat. I timed it. And I did NO prep work. Like I didn’t chop up any of the veggies really, and just threw everything into the blender and let it go to work. Brilliance. 16 seconds later I was ready to go!

If I had to go do my wedding registry all over again, this would be at the top of my list! I can’t even being to tell you how fast it makes my smoothies in the morning. Can you imagine how quickly it would make a blended margarita come spring time when it’s time to lay out by the pool. It’s going to be a whole new world 🙂

  1. I get pretty frustrated when I use the “ice chop” function on my blender. It really does not do much at all. Using a new Blendtec would result in frozen margaritas ASAP.

    1. I love your recipes and they always turn out well. I would really love to have a Blendtech blender!! I keep hearing how great they are and I need one so bad, I’m in the kitchen all the time trying to chop or cook and need something to help me get better results. Thank you for a great blog!

  2. This isn’t going to be a yum-inspiring answer, but I make homemade cat food for a sick kitty in a blender. beef, fishoil, some vitamin paste and greens.

  3. Pesto! Who says you can’t make pesto in a blender? When you don’t have a food processor, you have to make do with what you have!

    1. I follow you on Facebook, too. My go to site every morning is your blog to see what new, delicious recipe you have for us now. Love to try them and they taste great! Has gotten my family excited about meal time, I was stuck in a rut fixing the same things every week. Thank you for that!!!

  4. my favorite things to make in the blender are pesto, smoothies and nut butters. my old blender just died i so need a new one!

  5. I like making soup in my blender, but it always seems to have some traumatic event tied to the experience. Leaking, or too chunky, or something great like that 🙂

  6. I would love a Blentech blender for my homemade peanut butter and the smoothies for breakfast. Want to try the green ones, but my puny blender won’t mix it up.

  7. I would LOVE to be able to make my kale, banana, and almond butter protein shake in a BlendTec Blender! I can’t seem to get the kale entirely smooth, it maintains an unfortunate leafy texture.

  8. My most favorite thing is SMOOTHIES! I currently use a hand held mixer that doesn’t always “blend” like its supposed to, winning this would make my smoothies so much better!

  9. I love frozen drinks of all sorts but my blender isn’t always up for the task. Would LOVE to see what the Blendtec can do!
