It’s Friday. Shut off those computers. Put on some flip flops and whip up a batch of these Strawberry Jalapeño Margaritas for the weekend.
It’s pretty much a rule in our fam that when the weather hits 75+ degrees, I’m bringing out the margs. I’m bringing back one of my favorite recipes from the old blog days because it deserves to be front and center this weekend!
This Strawberry Jalapeño Margaritas came to be almost 8 YEARS AGO at our wedding. Our caterers and bartenders worked with us to craft a few specialty cocktails for our guests and this margarita was hands down the crowd fav. So much so that we ran out of tequila before happy hour was even over and had to go get some more from the market before dinner! I should note that we also did a pre-ceremony happy hour so a lot of cocktails were handed out before the actual dinner!! Clearly we’ve got a tequila loving crowd.
These are sweet from the strawberries, a little spicy from the jalapeño and the perfect refreshing cocktail after a long week!! The recipe below serves 2, but you can easily batch these up and make them ahead of time if serving a crowd. Just make sure to give the mixture a stir before pouring so you ensure the alcohol is evenly combined!
Strawberry Jalapeño Margarita
Ingredients
- 1 cup ripe strawberries, green tops removed
- 1/2 inch Jalapeño pepper
- 2 limes, juiced
- 2 teaspoons agave nectar
- 4 ounces silver tequila
- sparkling water to top
Instructions
- Combine the strawberries and jalapeño pepper in a small blender and blend until smooth. Strain if you prefer but I’m lazy and usually don't bother. Pour the contents of the blender in a shaker.
- Add the lime juice, agave nectar and tequila and a handful of ice. Secure the lid on the shaker and shake for 30-60 seconds to mix and chill the margarita
- Strain the juice out and serve over ice with a splash of sparkling water
Daaang! This looks so good!

27 is a great year! You are the cutest! Pretty drink 🙂 xoxo
thanks girl!
The farmers market is my happy place, filling my basket with fresh produce. I take my entire family because I think it’s important for the kids to shop with us, but there are days where their insistence on looking for certain items out of order drives me nuts, too. I love that you have farmers market cocktails when your husband does make it out, and margaritas at that.
I hear ya!! I will totally bring my kids one day too – it’s great for them to learn about food that way!
Yaa! Another use for strawberries!
woot woot! Strawberries are the best!
ooooo yes! For some reason, I only like jalapeno in margaritas, every other drink I’ve tried has never worked for me. Strawberry + jalapeno sounds awesome 🙂
I like anything as long as the word margarita comes after it 🙂
I just don’t know what to think 🙂 I love jalapenos and I love margaritas, but together??? !
These look so incredibly refreshing, Gaby! And I love that kick of heat. Happy weekend!
I need to put this into my refreshments rotation! 🙂
SO many things to love about this post. Props to your husband for the farmer’s market cocktail routine – one of my favorite activities!! Cocktailing is definitely a word and should be used liberally at all times. Thanks for the great recipe Gaby!
WOO! Spicy and sweet and tangy AND boozy! LOVE IT! So happy to be a part of the #soletspigout potluck with you! (I’m going to make this marg this weekend. Oh yes.)
I’ll take my own pitcher, thank you very much!
I am with Aida, I need a pitcher all to myself..no glass needed, just a straw. This sounds amazing Gaby I just LOVE spicy and sweet together.
OOOOH yah!! Just a little savory spiciness in my cocktails – just how I roll. Love this soo much, can I have two please?
I have been wanting to try this, it looks wonderful!
strawberries and jalapeños!? i’m in!!! this combo sounds genius!
You just made my weekend! I have all these ingredients at home already – this is beyond perfect! Is it five o’clock yet?!
Thanks so much for participating in #SoLetsPigOut, Gaby! Kinda wish we got to sip these sassy lil’ numbers together in real life. I’ll bring the guacamole. xo
They look great! I am planning my wedding now and hmm… these look like a very good idea for a Miami wedding in February! We get strawberries really early in Florida.
OMG I had a strawberry margarita last night at dinner and totally thought of these!! This is weird……
Cheers Gaby!!
i could definitely kick back with a margarita (or two) right now.. love the jalapeno. so perfect for summer!
Gaby – this drink looks absolutely delicious!! I love the salty and sweet combo!
Margaritas are my favorite and I love trying new flavors. The jalapeño in this is such a fun idea!
YUM! this is perfect for the weather right now!
I loooooove margaritas! Of any kind. Def excited to try one with a little heat! Where’s my blender…
If it weren’t for the fact that my veins don’t have tastebuds (an image that I am sufficiently creeped out just picturing, by the way…), I’m pretty sure an IV drip would be the way to go with this bad boy. Thanks so much for joining our little potluck, Gaby! Humbled and supes haps (sorry…) to have you around. 🙂
If it weren’t for the fact that my veins don’t have taste buds (an image which I am now sufficiently creeped out just thinking about…), I would totally say an IV drip is the way to go with his bad boy. I mean, yeah — just all the things, plug ’em right in. Humbled and supes haps (sorry) to have you hanging out with us for #SoLetsPigOut, Gaby! I await the day when real life hang time can happen. Until then — cheers! <3 xo – Em
These look awesome, Gaby! Love a cocktail with a little kick.
Hi Gaby! This sounds like a great combo! Can’t wait to try it – thanks for the inspiration! 🙂
