I remember the first week when Pretzel M&M’s were on the market. It was basically a mad dash for the market to see who could buy them all first. Clearly I won. I stocked up on pounds and pounds of these little morsels of goodness and stashed them away in my pantry for a rainy day. Here’s the deal, Pretzel M&M’s are my jam. They are the perfect combo of sweet and salty and the bottom line is that you need them in your life.

Ingredients

  • 3 3/4 cups AP Flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter at room temp
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup Pretzel M&M's
  • 1 cup chopped pretzels
  • sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  • In a large bowl sift together the flour, baking soda and salt and set aside.
  • In a stand mixer, combine the butter and sugars until smooth. About 3 minutes. Beat in the eggs and vanilla and scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix. Stir in the chocolate chips, pretzel M&M's and chopped pretzels.
  • Using a 1/4 cup scoop, scoop the dough onto the baking sheets. 6 cookies per baking sheet since they are jumbo! Using the palm of your hand, flatten out the cookies a bit and sprinkle with a touch of sea salt.
  • Bake the cookies for 12 minutes until the edges just barely turn golden brown. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the cookies cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack. Repeat the process with the remaining dough.

  1. I’ve got to say, I absolutely love all kinds of cookies! My favorite one though has got to be my mom’s peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. I don’t know how she makes them so special, maybe it’s because I’ve enjoyed them my whole life, maybe it’s because pretty much the only cookies she ever made were peanut butter, or peanut butter chocolate chip, maybe it’s the memories of taking them to elementary school every year for different parties in a 1 Gal ice cream bucket. My best memory of them though has got to be the year she made a big double batch for my 7th birthday sleepover party, and our oven got hit by lightening (welcome to Florida in August) & she had to cook all of them, 6 at a time, in our little toaster oven! Mmm big chunky peanut packed, chocolate chip cookies, bursting with peanut butter flavor.. gonna call up moms now and ask her to make some for my next visit!

  2. My favorite is chocolate chip cookies, but with 1/3 less chocolate chips than the recipe calls for in traditional Toll House cookies. Too many chocolate chips can ruin a good cookie. Leave out the nuts in this version also. Served fresh out of the oven with a glass of milk…..Heaven.

  3. lemon and white chocolate. it’s a recipe for a thin, somewhat soft lemon cookie I found (can’t remember where) and I added a handful of white chocolate chips to the batter, and a bit more flour so keep them from spreading as much and not be too thin. I love the softness, the lemony taste and the white chocolate just kills me.

  4. I am going to have to make these cookies real fast. I am on my way to the market to get the ingredients that I lack in my kitchen. I just know that everyone will love them as much as I imagine I will enjoy taking the first bite.

  5. My favorite cookies are soft chocolate chip cookies with about 1/2 a cup of extra chips than the recipe calls for… then just undercooked and served with a GIANT glass of milk. YUM!

  6. I’m sure it’s too late for me to win Maria’s book, but I’m excited for her e-publishing debut! How exciting. And you pretty much can’t lose with pretzel chocolate m&m cookies. I mean, seriously. They would be my jam too if I could just eat this computer screen! Oh wait, I can make my own? Awesome!!!!

  7. PB cookies with chocolate chips…PB and chocolate are the best combination so you can’t beat these cookies.

  8. I gotta say tiger cookies are so far my favorite cookie…They combine frosted flakes and a chocolate vanilla swirl, and the frosted flakes add a nice crunch!

Just made these cookies and they turned out great! I used white chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet just to be festive for the holidays. They are nice and fluffy just like I wanted. I made jumbo cookies, still got about 3 dozen. Next time I might use less chocolate chips, but that’s just personal preference. Thanks for the sharing this recipe!
