There’s really nothing quite like Grilled Peaches topped with Vanilla Ice Cream!!! Its one of my all time favorite desserts. So let’s go over how to easily grill peaches!
Stone fruit season is the best! Growing up I’d just eat peaches or nectarines plain like you would an apple. But I’ve since become a bit more creative and when they are in season, you can bet that I’ll find a way to work them into just about everything I make! There’s nothing quite like a perfectly ripe piece of stone fruit. It’s tender and packed with flavor and makes for an excellent addition to just about everything. If you tune into snapchat today, I’m adding them into my favorite salad!
But if you’re really going for it – then you should GRILL your stone fruit! This recipe is for Grilled Peaches, but it’s the exact same for nectarines, yellow or white! You could also use apricots! Sky’s the limit. They get grilled which brings out the flavor even more and you get little caramelized bits that are like little pieces of happiness. Add to that a drizzle of honey, a sprinkle of sea salt and some ice cream – nothing can compare! Whip up some grilled peaches for your next backyard bash and tell me what you think!
How to pick out the best peaches for grilling:
Here’s the thing about peaches – people like to manhandle them at the market. Because of that, I like to look for rock hard peaches that I can take home and let ripen on my counter. That way it avoids any bruised peaches. Also when you’re buying peaches, smell them! They should be super fragrant.
How to cut a peach:
Once a peach is ripe, it should be very easy to slice it down the center with a pairing knife, around the pit (like an avocado) and twist to open.
How to pit a peach:
On a really ripe peach, you should be able to pry the pit away from the flesh quite easily. In some cases, it might just pop right out once you slice the peach in half.
How to prepare the peaches for grilling:
That’s the beauty of this recipe – its almost no prep work! Once you slice the peach in half and remove the pit, that’s all you have to do really before grilling. You could brush the flesh side with a very neutral flavored oil to make sure it doesn’t stick to the grill!
What temperature should I use when grilling peaches?
Medium high heat! You can those grill marks without burning it!
How to grill peaches indoors on a grill pan:
Grilling peaches indoors is easy! Just heat a grill pan over medium high heat, brush the peach with a neutral flavored oil and grill as the instructions state below.

Yum, yum, YUM!! Even without a kitchen we can make this easily… doing it, today!
Looks good, Gaby, but have to say that the.most.delicious.dessert I have ever had in my entire life came about by accident. My son came for dinner one time carrying a basket of cling-free peaches which he had just brought from a friend’s fruit orchard. We did some shopping and made a great and varied seafood dinner and for dessert I peeled and sliced the peaches and topped them with Haagen-Dasz Vanilla Bean ice cream. It was PERFECT! We just moaned our way through it. Nothing special, right? Nope. However…
sometimes the most simple desserts are the best 🙂
Mmmm…peaches are my absolute favorite! Love them grilled! Lovely recipe! 🙂

Gaby, look into getting a charcoal chimeny. it is muh better for starting coals than any chemical starter. We use only natural chunk coal http://www.weber.com/weber-nation/grill-skills/mastering-smoke/using-a-chimney-starter/using-a-chimney-starter
This is absolutely amazing. It’s all I would want for a summer dessert!

Hi Gaby! Do you have any tips on how to cut peaches in half/de-pit them? I tried to grill peaches a couple weekends ago – the peach halves would not separate from the pit and ended up a juicy squishy mess.
they might have needed another day to ripen!!
Going to the Root Cellar here in Victoria, BC to buy some fresh Okanagan peaches so we can make this.
Pam.
Will try tonight
How have I never had this before? This is my new favorite thing in life. Loved it!
