  8. Gingerbread! Uncommon choice, maybe but you must try this recipe! I started making them with my Mom every Christmas when I was absolutely head-over-heels-IN-LOVE with my American Girl Doll Kirsten! She “has” a recipe collection that includes a recipe Pepparkakor Cookies — the ginger flavor comes through very softly. I’ve included the recipe below 🙂

    Ingredients:
    1 cup butter
    3 1/4 cups flour
    2 teaspoons baking soda
    2 teaspoons cinnamon
    1 teaspoon ginger
    1 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    1 egg
    2 tablespoons maple syrup
    1 tablespoon water
Extra flour for rolling out dough

    Directions: (3 dzn cookies)
    1. Set butter aside to soften to room temp.
    2. Sift into a medium mixing bowl the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves into sifter. Set bowl aside.
    3. Combine sugar and softened butter into a large mixing bowl. Press them against the side of the large mixing bowl, and then stir.
    4. Add the egg, maple syrup, and water to the butter and sugar mixture. Beat the mixture until it is fluffy.
    5. Stir the dry ingredients into the mixture 1 cup at a time. Mix well after each cup.
    6. Cover the bowl with the plate, and chill for one hour to make the dough easier to roll out and handle.
    7. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Have an ungreased cookie sheets ready to use.
    8. Sprinkle flour onto a table or counter and spread it around evenly with your hands. Cover the rolling pin with flour to keep the dough from sticking.
    9. Divide the dough into two balls. Flatten the first ball and roll it from the center to the edges. Try to make the who piece about 1/8 inch thick.
    10. Use cookie Cutters to cut out shapes that are about the same size. Put the cookies 2 inches apart on the cookie sheets.
    11. Bake the cookies for 8 to 10 minutes, until they are lightly browned on the bottom. Watch the cookies carefully. They Burn easily.
    13. Enjoy! YUM 🙂

  9. My favorite cookie is a toss-up between snickerdoodles and my dad’s chocolate chip cookie recipe (have to be made by him, too!)

  10. My favorite sentimental cookies are rasin-filled cookies. My mom only makes them at Christmas and they always remind me of my dad and grandpa – I believe the recipe came from my great grandma. But, for just plain cookie goodness – I’ll take an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, please.

  11. My favorite all time cookie is just a plain chocolate chip cookie fresh from the oven. I like to take them out right before they are done so it will be soft and gooey!

  12. My favorite cookies are the homentashen I make with my grandmother every Purim. They’re my favorite not only because of the tradition aspect, but there is lemon and orange zest and juice in the dough that makes it irresitible raw, let alone cooked! Mixed with jam or chocolate chip fillings, these cookies are to DIE for.

  13. My favorite cookie is the “Neiman Marcus” Cookie. Chocolate chip with espresso basically but so decadent! Urban legend has it a waiter at a Neiman Marcus cafe told a woman the cookie was, “Two-fifty” and she (rightfully so) interpreted that as: $2.50. Upon receiving the bill she realized she was charged $250 and in revenge sent out the recipe to everyone she knew. A delicious cookie and a little gossip – what more could a girl want??

  14. Iced oatmeal. Absolutely no raisins. Just cinnamon-y, oatmeal-y goodness, dressed with classic white vanilla frosting. Chewy but not gummy. Simple but not boring. One bite leads to another, another leads to the whole bunch. Whoops.

  15. My ultimate most favorite cookie of all time is a white chocolate sugar cookie with a hint of cinnamon. Most amazing soft cookie ever and to add a little crunch sometimes I add chopped salted peanuts. I love sweet and salty!!!

  16. Monster cookies would have to be my favorite kind of cookies. I love the fact that you can stick anything in ’em and I love their name. Usually, I put oatmeal, chocolate chips, mini M&Ms and mini butterscotch chips. I’m drooling now…thanks 🙂 YUMMMM!

  17. Favorite – cracked cookies. I love them moist on the inside and a tad crispy on the outside. I love the powder sugar on top. It gives it that extra sugar kick.

  18. I love a chocolate chip shortbread style pan cookie I make. You pat it in the pan and when it cools break it apart. I have never figured out what it is, but there is some addictive quality in it that makes me need to come back for another and another and another. Usually I like cookie dough more than the actual cookie, but with these I can’t stop.

  19. I just bought a bag of these yesterday!!! I think I now have a plan for them!!! <3<3<3

  20. OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP!!! they have a bit of a crunch but are so soft and moist. yumm!!!!

  21. My favorite is a chocolate cookie with peanut butter cup chunks or(PB cup baking chips)
I LOVE peanut butter cups in their original form but adding to a cookie is a double bonus!
Texture is Soft and gooey, when they are warm and you bite into them the chocolate and peanut butter ooze together. mmm!

  22. I love all cookies, but never had a favorite…until now. Pretzel M&Ms are my personal kryptonite- with shame I admit that when they first came out, I was eating around 4 bags a day. I needed an intervention. And once I bake these cookies today, I may need another intervention.

  23. By far, the best cookie ever is a coconut macaroon, with or without Craisins…….so stinkin’ yummy!!!! Okay, chocolate chips cookies are wonderful too!!!!

  24. My favorite cookie is a Double Chocolate Mint Cookie. Nestle used to make mint chocolate chips that were amazing, and this was the recipe on the back of the bag. They’ve since stopped, but I can still make them almost perfectly with semi-sweet chocolate chips and a ton of peppermint extract. They are thing, but chewy and gooey. Slightly crispy on the edges, better at room temperature than right out of the oven. Perfect for winter, as they were traditionally a Christmas cookie in my house. Best served with a glass of milk, and you better believe Santa was always one lucky guy in my family. 🙂

  25. My favorite cookie is oatmeal raisin – a big, chewy oatmeal raisin to be exact! Of course, Nutella Choc Chip is a rising star in my book too!

  26. I just love me a crispy at the edges, goey in the middle, with or without nuts, hot out the oven, sometimes pizzookie, chocolate chip cookie.

i’m not big on cookies with m&ms, but when you put in pretzels….mmmmm

  27. My fav cookie is shortbread cookies made by this little cookie shop. Light, buttery and heavenly. Love!
