Cookbooks galore + a giveaway

Jump to Recipe

Greetings from 10,000 feet up in the air. Okay, so I don’t really know how high up in the sky I am, but I’m heading home to Los Angeles after a great trip to NYC. One of my favorite parts about this trip was getting to meet so many new and fabulous people who have gorgeous cookbooks.

I’m a little bit of a cookbook fanatic. They all live on a special bookcase, dedicated to cookbooks, in my living room. And obviously they are color coordinated. I mean it only makes sense to color coordinate your cookbooks right? I color coordinate my closet, so what’s wrong with doing it all over the house.

This past week I found a bunch of new books that have already been ordered and will hopefully be arriving within the next 24 hours. Gotta love Amazon Prime 🙂

So here they are! And because I’m so jazzed about these kick ass cookbooks, I’m hosting a giveaway! One lucky What’s Gaby Cooking winner gets to pick whichever book they want and I’ll have it shipped right to you to join your own cookbook collection! Just leave a comment here telling me which book sounds like your new favorite! Contest closes Friday at Midnight PST.

So… here goes… my latest favorite cookbooks…

The Newlywed Cookbook  by Sarah Copeland

Serve Yourself by Joe Yonan

Chewy Gooey Crispy Crunchy Melt-in-Your-Mouth Cookies by Alice Medrich

Ripe: A Fresh, Colorful Approach to Fruits and Vegetables by Cheryl Sternman Rule

Cook This Now: 120 Easy and Delectable Dishes You Can’t Wait to Make by Melissa Clark

The Glorious Pasta of Italy by Domenica Marchetti

So let me know which one looks like your favorite! And I’ll announce the winner this weekend 🙂

*Full disclosure* I’m hosting this giveaway with me, myself and I. And I linked to the books via amazon because that was easiest. I don’t have an amazon affiliate account or anything like that. Just wanted to make life easy for you guys ’cause you’re awesome!

Update!! Thanks to everyone who entered! I wish I could send you all books but there’s just one winner today! Congratulations to #17 Caroline @ chocolate & carrots!!

To claim your book, just email me at whatsgabycooking@gmail.com and I’ll send it off right away 🙂 xo

  1. What great choices! I would like Ripe so I can try some tasty new ideas for fresh fruit and veggies. I’m trying to cook with local and in-season ingredients.

  2. Oh, I’d have to say The Glorious Pasta of Italy! BTW…Cook This Now is only $3.99 on amazon for your Kindle!!

  3. I would love ” The Glorious Pasta of Italy”,
I could eat pasta every day!!my favorite meals.

  4. I love cookbooks, but the internet has me spoiled and I don’t buy books very often any more. If I were going to make a purchase, I would have to say that Serve Yourself would be at the top of the list. Not only because I need to learn how to cook for one, but because the recipes sound wonderful!!

Thank you so much for doing this giveaway.

  5. I would love a copy of Serve Yourself! It cant be difficult adapting recipes when you are cooking just for one 🙂

  6. The Glorious Pasta of Italy, and The Newlywed Cookbook both catch my eye… Might have to hit up Amazon myself a bit later!

  7. Love cookbooks in all shapes and sizes – they are taking over my house and my life! Glad you had a fun trip in NYC and can’t wait to see you sometime soon. No need to enter me in the contest BTW 😉

  8. Cook This Now. I am a big fan of Melissa Clark and read her column every Wednesday in the NYT. I also don’t buy cookbooks anymore (well, except for Ina Gartens!) thanks to the internet, but this one would be great to have!

  9. I am in love with them all….but if I had to choose one I would pick the newlywed one since I am 7 short months away from being a newlywed myself!!

  10. So many good books, it’s hard to pick! “Cook This Now!” looks like it might become a kitchen staple and gets my vote.

  11. Ripe – found a great “veggie lady” near me and we are about to start a children’s garden in our backyard!

  12. Choices – choices… the italian pasta looks fantastic, but the ripe one has my attention too… it’d be a toss up.

  13. Oh my! They all sound amazing….if I HAD to pick though, I’d go for the Newlywed Cookbook. Maybe that would get him in the kitchen more 🙂

  14. Cook This Now– this is the lifestyle I try to follow! Washington apples should not be in a grocery store in February! Using what is fresh, tasty, and avaliable is fun and healthy! Looks like a good one! 🙂

  15. Cook this now. The reason I would like this book is because I an a busy mom working full-time with a husband who can barely make a sandwich for himself, so I need to cook recipes that are simple and quick.

  16. Thank you so much for thinking of your readers while you’re 10,000 feet up! If I won, I would select RIPE because I’ve met Cheryl, I really want a cop, and I haven’t gotten around to buying it yet. 🙂

  17. I think Ripe or the Newlywed cookbook would be my favorite. I would normally choose the cookie cookbook, but i’m afraid i already have far too many cookie recipes 😀
