Jump to Recipe

So. Let me paint you a picture. A few weeks back when I should have been making pretty things for my wedding and baking cookies to put into gift bags for our guests, I decided I should check out Amazon and see what kind of cookbooks were due to come out this fall. Little did I know that I basically added every other book to my shopping cart and spent 2 hours reading about the fabulous cooks that are publishing books in the next few months.

I’m jazzed to say the least. Now that the wedding planning is over, and I can eat whatever I want again because I don’t need to fit into my dress, I’m so excited to get back into the kitchen and cook up a storm!

So, here’s the deal. I picked my 10 most favorite titles that are due out this fall. Some of them were just released, and others are coming out in the next month or so. And I love each and every one of them. And can’t wait to get my hands on them too! And I feel like you should have them too. So let’s do a little giveaway shall we? Just peruse the books that are below, and pick your most favorite one or the one that looks the most like you, leave a comment telling me which cookbook is totally your jam and when I get back from my honeymoon on September 10th, I’ll pick 3 winners and mail ya the books of your choice!!

Sound good?

Okay go!

Here’s the deal. I love Aida. She is one heck of an amazing person and a dear dear friend of mine. So you should totally have her book. Not to mention her recipes are spot on and I’m not just saying that. I was cooking her recipes way before we were friends. And I trust her recipes to a T!

Weelicious: 140 Fast, Fresh, and Easy Recipes by Catherine McCord

Don’t mind me while I disappear into this book for the next 3 months. It’s another gorgeous book with to die for recipes! With 3 generations of recipes going into this book, it’s sure to be a winner in your kitchen!

Jerusalem: A Cookbook

I’m obsessed with Yotam. I’m pretty sure if we met in real life we would be great friends. I mean, I love all of his food, so I would just assume that we’d be friends in real life too. Don’t ya think? 🙂 His last cookbook, Plenty, was the inspiration behind so many of my pre-wedding meals. His food is clean, healthy and always flavorful! I can’t wait to dig into his latest!

The Sprouted Kitchen: A Tastier Take on Whole Foods

Based on one of my all time favorite blogs, this cookbook dives into the whole grains, whole foods and whole lotta vegetables. Plus the photography is breathtaking!

The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook

I mean, who doesn’t know Deb and her fab recipes!! I can’t wait to get this one into my hot little hands and start cooking and baking up a storm a la Deb!

Hugo Ortega’s Street Food of Mexico

I think I was meant to spend half of the year in Mexico. I’m just obsessed with Mexican cuisine. (I mean, guacamole in particular – but I love everything else too!) This cookbook, by Hugo Ortega just screamed my name when I came across it on Amazon. I think a street food adventure in Mexico sounds like something I was meant to do!

True Food: Seasonal, Sustainable, Simple, Pure

Have you guys ever been to True Food Kitchen? It’s one of my favorite restaurants here in Santa Monica. Want to know why? Because the food is fabulous and you actually leave feeling good! You’re not weighed down in greasy foods or stuffed to the brim with oversized portions. It’s just perfect. And this book is going to fit perfectly in my kitchen.

The Picky Palate Cookbook

Have you guys had those life changing oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies? Well, those are the genius brainchild of my friend Jenny Flake!! And she’s got a new book to go along with her fabulous blog! Jenny’s recipes are fun, playful, delicious and totally good for families! And the photos are gorgeous. Especially because my BFFs, Matt Armendariz and Adam Pearson did the photography and food styling! I worked on set as a food styling assistant too… and let me tell ya, I taste tested each recipe after it came from from it’s beauty shot. Soooo good!

Pure Vanilla: Irresistible Recipes and Essential Techniques

And last, but certainly not least, let’s end with something super sweet from my girl Shauna, she’s a total doll! 🙂 With recipes like Honey-Vanilla Granola Clusters, Vanilla Sea Salt Caramels, and Vanilla Mojitos, I think this is going to fit perfectly into my cookbook collection!

  1. My number one favorite would be the Picky Palate cookbook by Jenny Flake. Who could compete with Oreo stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies?

My second favorite would be Street Food of Mexico.

  2. Oh, it’s all about the Smitten Kitchen book for me. I discovered the blog last year, and I’m still working my way through the archives. I can’t WAIT for this cookbook!!!

  3. The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook! I’ve been following Deb for years and I’m so happy her cookbook is FINALLY coming out! I can’t wait to see what she invented in there.

  4. Wow. This is an AMAZING list of cookbooks! The Sprouted Kitchen appeals to me most because it appears to take simple ingredients and make them into decadent masterpieces! Healthy cooking can be so bland (a grilled piece of chicken and a side of broccoli) and I’d love to learn how to use fresh, healthy ingredients to make more interesting meals. I’d also like to try some new vegetables and what better way than with a fun recipe from a great cookbook!?!

  5. I am so, so excited for the Smitten Kitchen cookbook. Almost everything that I make and subsequently get requests from the family to make again is from her website. I’m sure I will love the book just as much!

  6. The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook would be my first choice because I love Deb, her writing and her recipes. Aida’s Keys to the Kitchen and the Pure Vanilla cookbooks also speak to me. Can you tell that I love cookbooks? It would be absolutely wonderful to win any one of them!

  19. The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook would be the ultimate prize for me. I stumbled upon her blog a few months ago and I was enjoying it so much I went back and read the entire thing from the beginning! This would just be the icing on a very delicious self baked (possibly monkey shaped) cake.

  20. I would love the Keys to the Kitchen cookbook. I tend to cook the same things all the time and would love to master new cooking techniques. Pure Vanilla looks wonderful too!

Congratulations on getting married! Thanks for a great giveaway!

  21. I visited my sister, who recently moved to London, and was enchanted by Ottolenghi while I was there. His restaurants were a delight for every sense. I am just finishing my degree in education and my life is turning the corner from student to independent adult. I would love to have Jerusalem. It is a cookbook unlike anything I have in my meagre collection of Joy of Cooking and Rachael Ray. Thank you for all your lovely recipes and congratulations on your nuptials!!
