So. Let me paint you a picture. A few weeks back when I should have been making pretty things for my wedding and baking cookies to put into gift bags for our guests, I decided I should check out Amazon and see what kind of cookbooks were due to come out this fall. Little did I know that I basically added every other book to my shopping cart and spent 2 hours reading about the fabulous cooks that are publishing books in the next few months.
I’m jazzed to say the least. Now that the wedding planning is over, and I can eat whatever I want again because I don’t need to fit into my dress, I’m so excited to get back into the kitchen and cook up a storm!
So, here’s the deal. I picked my 10 most favorite titles that are due out this fall. Some of them were just released, and others are coming out in the next month or so. And I love each and every one of them. And can’t wait to get my hands on them too! And I feel like you should have them too. So let’s do a little giveaway shall we? Just peruse the books that are below, and pick your most favorite one or the one that looks the most like you, leave a comment telling me which cookbook is totally your jam and when I get back from my honeymoon on September 10th, I’ll pick 3 winners and mail ya the books of your choice!!
Sound good?
Okay go!
Here’s the deal. I love Aida. She is one heck of an amazing person and a dear dear friend of mine. So you should totally have her book. Not to mention her recipes are spot on and I’m not just saying that. I was cooking her recipes way before we were friends. And I trust her recipes to a T!
Weelicious: 140 Fast, Fresh, and Easy Recipes by Catherine McCord

Don’t mind me while I disappear into this book for the next 3 months. It’s another gorgeous book with to die for recipes! With 3 generations of recipes going into this book, it’s sure to be a winner in your kitchen!
I’m obsessed with Yotam. I’m pretty sure if we met in real life we would be great friends. I mean, I love all of his food, so I would just assume that we’d be friends in real life too. Don’t ya think? 🙂 His last cookbook, Plenty, was the inspiration behind so many of my pre-wedding meals. His food is clean, healthy and always flavorful! I can’t wait to dig into his latest!
The Sprouted Kitchen: A Tastier Take on Whole Foods
Based on one of my all time favorite blogs, this cookbook dives into the whole grains, whole foods and whole lotta vegetables. Plus the photography is breathtaking!
I mean, who doesn’t know Deb and her fab recipes!! I can’t wait to get this one into my hot little hands and start cooking and baking up a storm a la Deb!
Hugo Ortega’s Street Food of Mexico
I think I was meant to spend half of the year in Mexico. I’m just obsessed with Mexican cuisine. (I mean, guacamole in particular – but I love everything else too!) This cookbook, by Hugo Ortega just screamed my name when I came across it on Amazon. I think a street food adventure in Mexico sounds like something I was meant to do!
True Food: Seasonal, Sustainable, Simple, Pure
Have you guys ever been to True Food Kitchen? It’s one of my favorite restaurants here in Santa Monica. Want to know why? Because the food is fabulous and you actually leave feeling good! You’re not weighed down in greasy foods or stuffed to the brim with oversized portions. It’s just perfect. And this book is going to fit perfectly in my kitchen.
Have you guys had those life changing oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies? Well, those are the genius brainchild of my friend Jenny Flake!! And she’s got a new book to go along with her fabulous blog! Jenny’s recipes are fun, playful, delicious and totally good for families! And the photos are gorgeous. Especially because my BFFs, Matt Armendariz and Adam Pearson did the photography and food styling! I worked on set as a food styling assistant too… and let me tell ya, I taste tested each recipe after it came from from it’s beauty shot. Soooo good!
Pure Vanilla: Irresistible Recipes and Essential Techniques
And last, but certainly not least, let’s end with something super sweet from my girl Shauna, she’s a total doll! 🙂 With recipes like Honey-Vanilla Granola Clusters, Vanilla Sea Salt Caramels, and Vanilla Mojitos, I think this is going to fit perfectly into my cookbook collection!

Eryn “What a tough pick, those all look amazing. I’d love Muy Bueno for the Mexican side of my family & Jerusalem: A Cookbook for the Israeli side of my family! You should then come over for a potluck, our food is amazing. Congratulations on your wedding. I will give you the advice that was given to me on my wedding day, by my favorite aunt: Love each other deeply. Even when it’s difficult, just love each other deeply. It will carry you through anything that comes your way.”
Ashley @ Wishes for Dishes “I would love Picky Palate cookbook! I am a picky eater, after all ”
I would totally love the Smitten Kitchen book. I love her blog and her recipes! Have a wonderful time on your honeymoon!
They all look wonderful. I think I would choose The Sprouted Kitchen as I am trying to eat healthier, but Smittten Kitchen is a close second. Congratulations on your marriage!
The Sprouted Kitchen and True Foods are officially on the Christmas list.
I would love the Pure Vanilla cookbook. Loved her Marshmallow Madness one!
Muy Bueno sounds delicious, I can’t get enough Mexican!
I recently discovered your blog and I love it. This is a terrific giveaway idea!! I might have to borrow it, giving credit where it’s due, of course. 🙂 I would love Street Food in Mexico, I think (though they all look fantastic). I’m obsessed with all things Mexican and Tex-Mex food, I can’t ever get enough.
Pure Vanilla!! I just love baking!!
Wow…awesome selection and really hard to pick one. After much thought and a quick eeny-meeny-minee-mo, I pick The Sprouted Kitchen. Please and thank you.
Even though I’m a fan of many of these cookbook authors, the one that intrigues me the most is the True Food cookbook.
I would love the The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook! Congratulations on getting married!!
True Food looks like my favorite! I love to cook with local food – Simple dishes can be so flavorful and quick. As a mom on the go all the time that is essential!
Picky Palate is my favorite! All of the selections are fantastic! Have a wonderful wedding!!!
Smitten Kitchen, although the Vanilla one sounds interesting!
Pure Vanilla looks fun. So does Smitten Kitchen!
smitten kitchen. couldn’t have gotten through berry season without her!
Wow! Thanks for the list of cookbooks – I’ve now joined three new cooking blogs. Pure Vanilla looks phenomenal – particularly for my daughter who loves to take deep whiffs of Penzey’s Mexican Vanilla. I think it has healing properties. And an author who names a recipe Blueberry Boy Bait? I want to party with her!
Aida Mollenkamp’s Keys to the Kitchen! I’ve just really started cooking and baking in the past year and this book sounds like an amazing tool for branching out and becoming a better cook 🙂
Keys to the Kitchen!
I’d love Weelicious. My formerly adventurous toddler is becoming a picky preschooler! I’d love some more ideas for dinner.
I would LOVE a copy of the Smitten Kitchen Cookbook!
Hi Gaby:
How generous and gracious of you!
I’m hoping that this contest is open to Canadians!
There are two I’m torn between “Jerusalem” and “Smitten Kitchen”.
It been a tough decision but I decided to go with
Deb Perlman’s “Smitten Kitchen”. I’m on her blog and trust and love her recipes.
Have a Joyful Day :~D
Charlie
Since i recently went to Israel Jerusalem: A Cookbook jumped out at me, it sounds soo delicious
I love Picky Palate, so I pick her cookbook!
Smitten Kitten!
Wow. These are great cookbooks. My top three are Jerusalem, Weelicious, and Keys to the Kitchen. To choose just one, I think I’d go with Jerusalem.
Have an awesome honeymoon!!!!
Picky-Palate would be my choice!
Smitten Kitchen cookbook please! Lover her blog!
I’m dying to get my hands on The Picky Palate!
Oh goodness, what a decision you will have to make, Gaby! I just read all the descriptions and reviews on Amazon, and I think that “Aida Mollenkamp’s Keys to the Kitchen” is at the very tip-top of my list. I know my way around the kitchen when it comes to baking, but it’s the savory cooking that I struggle with!! Which is why I make the same things over and over again! I could totally use the how-to tips to make me feel more confident and at ease when cooking dinner!!!
Hope you are having a fabulous honeymoon!!!
I would love Weelicious! I’m about to have a baby and would like some new family dinner recipes.
I would love the smitten kitchen cookbook! (Or the Picky Palate cookbook…choices…I’ll stick with the other one, though, I think.)
Smitten Kitchen! Wait, Jerusalem! No, wait, Muy Bueno! Ai yi yi, so hard to decide!
Smitten Kitchen! Can’t wait!!
Oh no! you just added at least 4 or 5 new books to my wish list and it was long enough as it is 🙂
I’m torn between a few but have been following Deb at Smitten Kitchen for a while and love her yummy recipes and the way she writes so that one is a must have. Congratulations on your wedding hope you have a fabulous honeymoon. I must go update my amazon wishlist now…..Cheers, J
Smitten Kitchen! I love her stuff =)
I enjoyed reading about all of these cookbooks, but the one that really stands out for me would be the Muy Bueno!! I have LOVED (seriously…. LOVE!!!) Mexican food ever since I was a kid… and have lived in TX most of my adult life, and I STILL can NOT get enough of Mexican food!! The description of this book had me from the very beginning with the invitation of “Sientate a comer”!! That just REALLY makes me want to sit down & dig in! 🙂 And how can you possibly go wrong with 3 generations of family cooking up some of my all-time FAV yumminess??!? I don’t think that’s at all possible!! 😉 LOL
Thank you so much for offering this amazing giveaway!! And Congratulations on the wedding!
The Smitten Kitchen cookbook is at the top of my list right now!
They all look fab, but my pick would definitely be Keys to the Kitchen!
the pure vanilla one looks sweet!
Whoa I’m smitten with the Smitten Kitchen cook book! I’ll be looking for the Pure Vanilla book too. Wow. Now I want a cupcake.
I would absolutely love Keys to the Kitchen or True Food… and of course would never turn down Pure Vanilla, either! I love a good dessert cookbook 🙂
Weelicious looks like it’s just for my family. Happy honeymoon!
Tough choice but if I hav to pick one that is standing out the most it is the True Food one.
These all look great! I would love Keys to the Kitchen.
Thanks!
The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook, no doubt!
I can’t wait for the Smitten Kitchen Cookbook. I’ve been reading Deb’s blog and cooking her recipes for ages.
I can’t believe you are doing all of this right before your wedding! Thank you for sharing with others. I loved the entire collection but think Keys to the Kitchen is my favorite because it would help me with technique and the last section called Riff is so me–love to riff in the kitchen unfortunately it does not always work but I love to try. Have a wonderful wedding celebration!
The Picky Palate cookbook of course! Congrads to you and have a great honeymoon!
I would love the Smitten Kitchen cookbook!!! I started following Deb when I was in college and didn’t have any idea what I wanted to do with my life… Thanks to her, I’m pursuing a career in the food industry!!
I pick Jerusalem, mainly because it’s not something I would normally order, but Deb of smitten kitchen just made something from his previous book, so I’m excited to see what other recipes are in the new one.
