Sunday Funday Vol 2

Jump to Recipe

Woooohooooo Happy Sunday 🙂

Raise your hand if you’re going to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day today? If you are, have a beer for me! I’ll be slaving away at home trying to prep for the coming week. You see, my best friends from high school are coming out this week and we’re all heading to Palm Springs for a little girl time. I’m beyond ecstatic to see some of my besties and to lay out by the pool and drink some margaritas.

This week was a busy one for me and I rounded it out yesterday with a serious 5 hour shopping extravaganza with a good friend who is also an amazing stylist. We pounded the pavement and found some amazing pieces to add to my closet. I figured it was time to add a few new key items, especially since I’ll be running around the country in a few weeks with Absolutely Avocados!

Anyways…. here are some things I’ve been loving this week!

Our wedding was featured in Style Me Pretty! I’ve looked at it about 100 times since it was posted, it’s always so fun to re-live the day!

How amazing are these colorful backyard pots? I need them on my balcony immediately.

Fennel Puff Pastry Bites. I made these with Aida this week for a fun book event she did, and they were lovely. Fennel is my new favorite thing – and these have my name all over them! I know it’s a little early to start thinking about Easter Brunch… but these would be perfect.

Are you on twitter? Do you like Harry Potter? You should follow The Dark Lord. It’s a guaranteed daily laugh!

Goop suggested a little closet editing this week and that’s exactly what I am going to do this weekend. Cleaning out the closet is cathartic. And color coding it is even better.

One of my best friends from college has a really great company called The Loving Paw. It’s all about supporting animal rescue organizations and she has these super cute shirts available with proceeds going to support animal rescue! If you want one, hop on over, the sale ends tonight!

Seeing as how today is St. Patty’s Day… you should make these spinach cheddar scones from Weelicious. They are some of the best scones I’ve ever tasted. And they are green. Go for it!

I spent a decent amount of time on Monday cleaning out my dishwasher. Who does that? Why would one even clean a dishwasher? Well, let me tell you… it needed a good scrubbing. Weird to think that something that supposedly cleans your dishes on a daily basis needed to be cleaned too. Well it does. For sure. And now my dishes are even more sparkly than before!

Can you tell I’m super into spring cleaning these days? I think my husband wishes he had a lock on his closet, since he’s now concerned about me “editing” his closet while he is gone at work. I’m not going to lie…. it could happen.

  1. Hi Gaby – cute bits of info today! I’m always impressed when I hear of anybody taking on a closet makeover!!! Is a lot of work, but makes me feel awesome once I’m done! Have fun in Palm Springs – it is so beautiful there!

  2. Nice round up! I really like the Loving Paw. Sounds like a very cool organization, and I will make use of their sale.
    Thanks for sharing.

  3. I am really loving your Sunday Funday! The best part is, I just washed my dishwasher too. Our’s stopped working earlier this week mid cycle!!! A genius repair guy, who also loved Life of Pi, and told us to rent it immediately, gave us dishwasher tips. So I followed his advice, he is a guru at his work. I put about 2 cups of vinegar on high heat, heavy load wash in my empty washer, no scrubbing necessary. And I will be onto Spring cleaning as soon as I graduate this week.

  4. Sadly I enjoy cleaning out closets lol.. It’s really more about getting rid of stuff that makes me smile ha. My brothers birthday is on St Patricks Day so we usually celebrate but this year he isn’t here so no German Chocolate Cake for him. Loving Paws …truly a worthwhile organization….we love all our furry friends .
