Did you know that life is LEGITIMATELY better when you schedule girl time with your nearest and dearest?

Every Sunday I hit up my local farmers market to stock up on all sorts of goodies for the week. Any fruits and veggies we need – check! My favorite artisanal hummus and dips, you betcha. And fresh flowers, naturally. One of my best friends happens to live a few blocks from me and she is the QUEEN of flowers. Like she’s one of those people who always has fresh blooms in her house – major goals right there for me. I’d like to be that person one day. She also puts together a killer arrangement so I bribed her with blooms and beverages, Palm Breeze (duh), to give me a lesson the other day.

First stop – farmers market. We both grabbed a variety of blooms. Kasey went for roses and sunflowers – I went with more of a color motif situation with whites, greens and yellows of all shapes and sizes. It’s spring, so I just went for it.

Second stop – back to the house!  There are only a few things you need to get started. 1: containers. I like low flower arrangements because nothing drives me crazier than when I can’t see someone sitting on the other side of the table from me. You also need tape. Something that I wasn’t aware of. And your flowers. And your beverage of choice! Kasey is a Ruby Red Citrus kinda gal and I opted for the Pineapple Mandarin Orange.

Apparently HERE IS THE KEY. Wait for it. I’m about the change your floral design life. It’s all about taping off the container in a grid. That way you can carefully place flowers all around and they actually stay where you want them to stay. Like, who knew? Clearly I’ve been living under a rock, but maybe you have been too and I just changed your life. If that’s the case, you’re welcome.

So once your tape grid is in place, just start popping in flowers left and right and mixing up the sizes so it feels balanced. I’m not going to lie that I was PRETTY impressed by mine, Kasey’s is gorgeous, naturally!
