Greetings from 10,000 feet up in the air. Okay, so I don’t really know how high up in the sky I am, but I’m heading home to Los Angeles after a great trip to NYC. One of my favorite parts about this trip was getting to meet so many new and fabulous people who have gorgeous cookbooks.
I’m a little bit of a cookbook fanatic. They all live on a special bookcase, dedicated to cookbooks, in my living room. And obviously they are color coordinated. I mean it only makes sense to color coordinate your cookbooks right? I color coordinate my closet, so what’s wrong with doing it all over the house.
This past week I found a bunch of new books that have already been ordered and will hopefully be arriving within the next 24 hours. Gotta love Amazon Prime 🙂
So here they are! And because I’m so jazzed about these kick ass cookbooks, I’m hosting a giveaway! One lucky What’s Gaby Cooking winner gets to pick whichever book they want and I’ll have it shipped right to you to join your own cookbook collection! Just leave a comment here telling me which book sounds like your new favorite! Contest closes Friday at Midnight PST.
So… here goes… my latest favorite cookbooks…
The Newlywed Cookbook by Sarah Copeland
Serve Yourself by Joe Yonan
Chewy Gooey Crispy Crunchy Melt-in-Your-Mouth Cookies by Alice Medrich
Ripe: A Fresh, Colorful Approach to Fruits and Vegetables by Cheryl Sternman Rule
Cook This Now: 120 Easy and Delectable Dishes You Can’t Wait to Make by Melissa Clark
The Glorious Pasta of Italy by Domenica Marchetti
So let me know which one looks like your favorite! And I’ll announce the winner this weekend 🙂
*Full disclosure* I’m hosting this giveaway with me, myself and I. And I linked to the books via amazon because that was easiest. I don’t have an amazon affiliate account or anything like that. Just wanted to make life easy for you guys ’cause you’re awesome!
Update!! Thanks to everyone who entered! I wish I could send you all books but there’s just one winner today! Congratulations to #17 Caroline @ chocolate & carrots!!
To claim your book, just email me at whatsgabycooking@gmail.com and I’ll send it off right away 🙂 xo
I would really love a copy of chewy gooey crispy crunchy. I’ve had my eye on it for a long time now!
They all sound great (I actually have Cook This now and it’s phenom) but I think I would have to choose The Newlywed Cookbook. My bf and I just moved in together and cooking is our favorite part. I love getting new ideas!
Hmm… I think I’d like the newlywed one! I’ve been married for a little over a year, but I think I’m still an newlywed 🙂 That book looks awesome!
The Newlywed Cookbook – every time I see this somewhere I almost buy it!
Serve Yourself by Joe Yonan…Looks like an adventure.
Fried Chicken and Champagne sounds amazing… would love to explore that book!
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have the Serve Yourself cookbook, because I really love to cook but I have trouble only cooking servings for 1! Thank you for having a giveaway! 🙂
Chewy Gooey Crispy Crunchy for sure! What a fantastic list. I need to update my collection.
I love Cheryl, and so want to read her new book. Plus, it is color-coordinated, just like my (and your!) cookbooks. 😉
Chewy, gooey, crispy crunchy looks amazing! I’m a sucker for sweet treat cookbooks. 🙂
Cook This Now looks awesome – and simple, which is great for someone like me who loves too cook but sometimes feels too busy for it!
I’m interested in the Newlywed Cookbook – I’m getting married in 2 weeks and we could definitely use some new recipes!
Newlywed one! 🙂
While all the books would be a great addition to my culinary library, I’ve been drooling over “chewy gooey crispy crunchy” for some time now! Also the Fried Chicken and Champagne” looks great too!.
The Newlywed Cookbook looks awesome!
I would love to have a copy of Lisa Dupar’s Fried Chicken and Champagne!! After reading the reviews I am sure this book would find a wonderful home here. Thank you for the opportunity!!

I’m glad to hear you had an enjoyable trip to the east coast!
I would love a copy of Ripe–I’ve been trying to eat more veggies lately, but I’m struggling with creative ways to prepare them. Especially with farmer’s market season coming up, it would be fun to have a new set of fruit and veggie recipes!
I would love to win a copy of The Glorious Pasta of Italy. I have had my eye on this cookbook for a long time now.
I would love to try recipes from Cook This Now!
The Newlywed Cookbook looks fantastic! I love to cook with my boyfriend and this would give us more recipes to try!
Ripe! I’ve run out of ideas for vegetable side dishes.
As a newlywed who’s been eating tacos for months, I’d LOVE the Newlywed Cookbook. I think my husband would love it even more 🙂
I would love to have the newlywed one or Ripe! Trying new recipes with my new husband would be fun or having Ripe would make us appreciate our veggies and fruits more often. Thanks for the giveaway!
Cook This Now is my top pick! I’ve been hearing wonderful things about this cookbook.
The Newlywed Cookbook! I need help cooking for me and my husband!
The Glorious Pasta of Italy! I love pasta!

This is so nice of you! Alcohol and fried chicken are some of my favorite food groups so obviously would love to have that one!
Ripe! Sounds like the perfect cookbook to welcome spring!
Ooo! “Cook This Now” looks great!
I would love to bake from Chewy Gooey Crispy Crunchy Melt-in-Your-Mouth Cookies!
Chewy, Gooey, Crispy, Crunchy – those should be America’s basic food groups.
Sure wish I would have been given a newly wed cookbook and even though I’m nowhere near being a newly wed at this point my choice would still be: The Newlywed Cookbook by Sarah Copeland
I would love to have a copy of _Serve Yourself_. I find myself doing a lot less solo cooking than I’d like, so I could really use the inspiration!
I would LOVE to have “Fried Chicken and Champagne”. As a black, female Southerner, I feel like I’m letting down my people whenever I make fried chicken because it never, ever comes out right. This book seems perfect for me!
I think I like the Fried Chicken & Champagne, although my hubs just told me that he wishes I cooked more pasta… Great picks!
So hard to choose….but I think I’d pick Melissa Clark’s Cook This Now. I love cookbooks =)
‘Cook This Now’ looks amazing! I loove getting new cookbooks 🙂
I have also had my eye on Chewy, Gooey, Crispy, Crunchy for a while now, and it would be a fabulous addition to my cookbook collection, especially as I don’t have a cookbook dedicated to cookies.
I would love to win a copy of the Chewy Gooey Crispy Crunchy Melt-in-Your-Mouth Cookies by Alice Medrich! It looks awesome and I’m always out there to explore more cookie recipes.
Thank you for a fresh list of cookbooks to enjoy. I haven’t seen one since Christmas, so I’m happy to have some spring reading. I like the Ripe cookbook, but they all look interesting.

I’d love a copy of the “Serve Yourself”. My husband is a lot pickier about his food than I am, so I find myself cooking for one (me!) often. I’d love some new ideas!!
