Amazing food photography, food styling and food porn is something that we all see every day across the blogosphere. When I see a photo of some kind of dish and it looks absolutely drool worthy… well I kinda sorta have to make it ASAP. Lucky for me my boyfriend and friends are AH-MAZING… and they love trying new dishes on a regular basis… so they get the pleasure of being my guinea pigs.
After seeing Helen’s amazing and gorgeous Chocolate Caramel Banana Tart a few weeks back on Tartlette, I was inspired to make one of my own. Plus she is coming to visit us in 24 hours so I was making it in her honor. Okay and lets not forget the little fact that I just was dying to try it! Not to mention we had just spent the week at Pastry School learning all about different kinds of ganache and caramel. So it was pretty much fate. Yup, it was fate. I grabbed my go-to chocolate Pate Sucree recipe from my culinary school binder and went to work!
I tried numerous different ratios that we had played around with at pastry school and ultimatly decided on 2 that were good enough to eat on their own. In fact I probably ate more than I used for the actual tart. Whatever. Don’t judge!! You can find the recipe on the new Taste Spotting Blog
This looks ooey-gooey-licious!!
I wish I could be one of your guinea pigs!!
