It’s all about Slutty Brownies today! Layers of cookie dough, Oreo’s and homemade brownie batter = it’s perfection. Keep reading for all the tips and tricks 🙂
A few weeks ago I was perusing the interwebs, mainly pinterest, because it’s my latest obsession and I spend an inordinate amount of time pinning things that I want to eat, and things that I want at my wedding. I’m not quite sure how people planned weddings before Pinterest. It’s kinda the greatest invention of all times. But while I was knee deep in my wedding pinning extravaganza, I stumbled across something called Slutty Brownies.

Clearly these caught my attention immediately. They are the brilliant creation of The Londoner and they are basically it’s a SUPER POWERED brownie made with layers of cookie dough, oreo cookies, and then a rich and decadent brownie layer. They are EVERYTHING. Seeing as how I’m a private chef, I made them for every single person in my life, including Jessica Simpson who is my current private chef client, and when asked on Leno what made them slutty she replied.. it’s because a lot of things go into them. GENIUS.
They are decadent. One small bite will be enough to satisfy any sweet tooth but why stop there!

You could easily make these with box mix, which is what the original recipe I found calls for, but I took it one step further and made these with my all time favorite rich chocolate-y brownie recipe and my favorite chocolate chip cookie dough recipe. The Oreo in the middle may seem slightly out of place because you might think it’s going to be this crunchy layer between two super soft and chewy layers, but let me reassure you that it’s not. The Oreo kind of soaks up a bit of moisture from the brownie batter and cookie dough and just adds that extra bit of fabulousness.

Make Slutty Brownies immediately.
They’ll change your life. The first 2 times I made these, I cut them right away to serve them and they kinda fell apart a bit since they were still crazy warm, and that’s totally one way to go. If you’re serving them fresh out of the oven, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream just for another layer of decadence and serve away. If you’re going to let them sit for a few hours, you’ll get a super gorgeous cut square and can grab it and go. Either way, they are awesome.
VERY IMPORTANT SLUTTY BROWNIE FAQ’s:
- This is the pan I bake these in – it’s a 9×9 square pan from Amazon and it’s the best. It’s a non-stick square pan – which is what you need. A glass pan or a pan of another size won’t yield the same results as the photos here.
- Cool the brownies once they come out of the oven for at least 1 hour before slicing and serving if you want perfect square pieces.
- You can use any kind of Oreos you want – double stuffed, regular, flavored, birthday cake, red velvet etc
- IF you use a box mix for the brownie layer, you won’t want to use the entire batter as it yields more than my homemade brownie recipe. You just want to have enough brownie recipe to cover the oreos on the top layer.
- Here’s a SLEW of savory recipes to make alongside these treats!

Slutty Brownies
Ingredients
For the Brownie layer:
- 10 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 1/4 cups white sugar
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup flour
For the Oreo layer:
- 1 package of Oreo regular stuffed or double stuffed
For the Cookie Dough layer:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter at room temp
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
For the Brownie layer:
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium high heat. Add the sugar and cocoa powder once the butter is melted. Whisk to combine and remove from heat. Add the salt, vanilla and eggs and continuously whisk until the eggs are combined. Add the flour and continue to mix. Set batter aside.
For the Cookie Dough layer:
- Cream together the butter and sugars in a mixer. Add the egg and vanilla, making sure to scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl. Add the flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder and mix on low until everything is incorporated. Fold in the chocolate chips. Set dough aside.
Assembly:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line the bottom of a 9x9 baking pan with tin foil or parchment paper and then spray the foil/paper with a spritz of non-stick baking spray.
- Layer the cookie dough on the bottom of a 9x9 baking pan, pressing down to form the bottom of the slutty brownies. Layer as many oreos that will fit on top of the cookie dough. No need to overlap. One single layer will do.
- Pour the brownie batter on top of the oreo layer and make sure it's evenly layers on top.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes. Test with a knife to see if the center is done. If the knife comes out clean, let the brownies rest for at least 2 hours before serving. If the knife comes out with batter still on it, allow the brownies to bake about 5 minutes more. Slice and serve.

I made these for dessert this weekend – big hit! This is a keeper! Of course with a bunch of kids – and their friends over – we’ll have to change the name of these brownies! LOL!
In my house( we have my two little sisters that are 8 & 6) we call them Sloppy Brownies
These are AMAZING! It is so worth using these recipes instead of the store bought. I would recommend refrigerating them over night before cutting into them. That way they hold together and still taste fudgy delicious.
yayyyy!! so glad you loved them Amelia!! 🙂 Thank you!
Hi Gaby….I made these tonight. They are awesome! I didn’t have alot of Oreos, but they were still great!!!! Check them out on Instagram…. @dulceminamd…
yummmmm love it!!
These didn’t turn out right at all! Which is terrible, because they’re absolutely great in theory. I had to leave it in the oven for about an hour before the brownie layer was done. It was quite a mess, really. I’m wondering what I did wrong, because everyone seems to be raving about these.
P.S. I followed the recipe to the T.
Hi Gauri!
One quick question – what size pan did you use?
I used a 9×9 pan 🙁
But I’m going to keep trying these until I get them right, because look how beautiful!
9×9 is the perfect size!
Next time you give them a go – take them out of the oven at the given time, and let them cool. The brownies continue to bake a bit once they are out of the oven due to the residual heat… and then refrigerate them once they have cooled to room temp to firm everything up! Keep me posted for sure 🙂
do I really need to make the brownie batter via sauce pan or can I just mix it normally? 🙂
you just need to melt the butter – so if you melt it in the microwave, you can mix it all normally if you want!
thank you so much 🙂
Step #8 is a bit confusing… How do you press down cookie dough to the tin foil when its liquidy? Won’t the oreos sink through as well as the brownie mix? Thanks 🙂
Hi Elizabeth! The cookie dough recipe here isn’t liquidy so it’s easy to push down! Here’s a little tutorial I just did: https://dev.afterhoursagency.com/wgc/peppermint-slutty-brownies/
Is it okay to use Ghirardelli brownie mix and my own cookie dough recipe as long as it’s not liquidy?
totally!!
The only decadent thing missing is caramel…but would that make them more than slutty? lol
I put caramel in it when I made them in between the oreos and.cookie.dough
whaaaaaat? I want some of those!! That is an extra slutty brownie 🙂
Is it necessary to add the tinfoil to the baking pan? Or is it okay to just grease the pan?
you can just grease it – but the tin foil makes it easier to pull out! Here is a step by step guide if you want 🙂 https://dev.afterhoursagency.com/wgc/peppermint-slutty-brownies/
To make these brownies even sluttier, how about a bit of a glaze? I have a plan to make these to share with my co-workers (am retiring soon), and am thinking that a glaze would make them dead slutty!
So do you have to make the brownie and cookie dough mix or can you buy em
hey sage! you can totally buy them if that’s easier for you. I prefer my homemade mixes – but I’ve done it both ways and it works for sure!
my 9×9 pan is currently on loan to a friend, will these be fine to make in a 9×13? How would you suggest altering it so it would work? Thanks!
Hi Sheri! A 9×13 will still totally work. You’ll just need to keep your eyes on the brownies since they will be a bit thinner, and that will affect the baking time. Just be sure to check it every once in a while after 30 minutes to see when the center is not jiggly and almost cooked!
My brownie batter was quite thick is that normal? I followed this recipe
yup!! brownie batter should be thick 🙂
will it make a difference if I used nestle cookie dough and brownie mix? instead of doing it from scratch?
hey chelsea! yes it will make a difference because the brownie mix makes a large quantity than why my homemade recipe calls for. You can still totally do it – but you might want to use a 9×13 pan since the brownie mixture makes a lot. And it will take a little longer to bake – so you’ll have to keep checking
Well I made last night -I used a box mix for bownies cuz I was pressed for time -came out raw, everytime I chacked the brownie, -not alittle raw alot, so I had to keep adding more time by the time brownies are done the cookie dough was super hard -I gotta cut off or should I say saw off bottom layer to eat the brownie -I m gonna try this recipe again but in a 13×9 not the 9x 9 pan that’s recommend -way to thick.
hey gigi – the homemade brownie recipe for these makes a smaller quantity than if you use a box mix – so that will absolutely affect the baking time. If you use a box mix – you would be better off in a 9×13 pan because the brownies will be so thick which will take longer to bake and will make the cookie layer crispy and overbaked
Hey im just wondering how long you have to bake with 8 x 8 pan, I don’t have 9 x 9 pan…
hey becky – so they might not fit into an 8×8 pan. Do you have a 9×13?
No.. But I have 11 x 7 pan. Will that work?
This has got to be about the most delicious dessert I’ve ever seen. Oreos!! Brilliant 🙂
Hi Gaby and thanks a lot for your wonderful recipe! My grandmother as well as my mother and her boyfriend have gladly overindulged into these goodies. They’re almost gone and I only created them last night! (without the oreos 🙁 ! )
I just wanted to leave something that I found useful while making them. Because I used your cookie recipe, the dough was the perfect consistency but was not packable into the container at room temperature so I put the container along with the cookie dough into the freezer and then I was able to pat it down into a nice even layer!
Thanks a lot, and I’ll be back for more of youre nice recipes!
great tip!! Thanks Alexandra!
I was just wondering if you could crush up the oreos?
Just made them. This schould be illigal! They are divine.
Hi, I would like to know what brand you get of the ingredients needed. And where you buy them. That would be great (: I’d Love to try your homemade recipes for the cookie and brownie layer. Thank you (:
Hi Cray, I don’t use anything special – just the generic versions of flour, sugar, kerry gold butter, ghiradelli chocolate chips! Hope this helps 🙂
Hi Gaby! Can you recommend a substitute for the eggs? I’m not too keen on using applesauce because I did once and it made my cake very (for want of a better word) squishy -.- I was thinking maybe baking soda+some water. Any ideas? This looks incredible and I can’t wait to try it! Thanks 🙂
Hi Bhavna,
Unfortunately I’ve never done any experimenting with egg substitutes so I can’t recommend something that I 100% know will work. Sorry I can’t be of more help.
I made these last year for my sister-in-law’s homecoming. Everyone raved at how sinfully delicious they were. I still receive constant requests for more. Yummy.
oh my gawd! I love these! how did I miss this the first time?!
Made these last weekend for my hubby’s birthday. I didn’t have any Oreos so I used peanut butter cups. I also don’t have a 9×9 pan so I used my 8×8. They fit but they were a little thick. The end result was delicious though. I”ll definitely be making these again.
Fell in love with these. 3 layers of my favorite. My best friend and I are making these tomorrow!! *excited*
I’he made these a few times before and my friends go absolutely CRAZY for them!!
yayyyyy
I was watching Don’t Be Tardy with Kim Zolciak (from Real Housewives of Atlanta) and on the most recent episode, they were making Slutty Brownies! I was totally wondering if they were using your recipe and thought of you! I hope they were! 🙂
woohoooo!!! were they making them from box mix or scratch!! xoxo
I’ve made these before, and I want to make a 13×9 pan. What would the conversions for that size pan be?
