Also because we cannot control the way google terms show up in your search results, this might show up as something else but know that we are working every day to SEO Chex Christmas Mix. xx

Have you ever had Chex Christmas Mix? It goes by many names but bottom line – it’s delicious. In the Dalkin household growing up it was just plain old mix.  And Thomas frequently references Chex Christmas Mix when he needs a batch. Bottom line – doesn’t matter what you call it – it’s EVERYTHING.

It’s a sweet and salty snack made with a combination of cheerios, rice chex, wheat chex, pretzel sticks, M&M’s and white chocolate. Image trail mix on steroids – it’s EVERYTHING. My mom’s been making this mix for us for ages, especially during the holiday season because it’s just so gorgeous and festive. I like to make big batches of this and pack it up so I can give it out as gifts around this time of year! Also – FYI – it keeps super well in the freezer.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Cheerios
  • 3 cups Rice Chex
  • 3 cups Wheat Chex
  • 2 cups Corn Chex
  • 1 cups Pretzel Sticks
  • 2-3 cups m&m’s
  • 24 oz White Chocolate plus an extra 4-8 oz if needed

Instructions

  • In a large bowl combine the Cheerios, Chex, Pretzels and m&m’s. Mix them up a bit, making sure that everything is evenly distributed.
  • Meanwhile, over a double boiler, melt the white chocolate according to the directions on the package.
  • Once the chocolate has melted and is a smooth consistency, drizzle the chocolate over the cereal mix and combine with a wooden spoon or hands. Make sure all the cereal is covered in chocolate. If you need to melt the extra white chocolate to cover all the mix then go right on ahead!
  • Once the entire batch has been combined, lay it out to dry on a large sheet of parchment or wax paper. Let dry for 1 hour so the chocolate is cooled and hard. Break it up into medium pieces and store in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer.

  1. Hands down, my favorite Christmas treat is fudge. I just love it and pretty much only allow myself to indulge around Christmas time.

  2. Ha! I love the name, Christmas Crack! I’d say my favourite treat during the holidays are Christmas Spiders (also a weird name). They’re basically chow mein noodles, peanuts covered in melted peanut butter and chocolate. No bake and extremely delicious 🙂

  3. Favorite holiday treat? That would probably be Swedish Thumbprint cookies–they have a shortbread-like base, rolled in ground almonds, with a dollop of jam (and I use my homemade plum jam in them.)

  4. I’ve been kind of obsessed with all making lots of sweet & savory nuts…I make them for company but end up eating the leftovers!

  5. Cookies, cookies, cookies. We make so many different recipes during the holidays and take half of what we make to the nursing home in our town. They are loved by everyone!

  6. My favorite holiday dessert is homemade peppermint ice cream and hot fudge sauce. Even on chilly Colorado winter nights it is delicious! Yum!

  7. I’ve been making a version of Christmas Crack for quite a few years now, but never heard it called that! We just refer to it as white chocolate chex mix. Shaina’s book is on my Christmas wish list, so I’d share this one with my Mom if I won. Thanks for the opportunity!
