So. Let me paint you a picture. A few weeks back when I should have been making pretty things for my wedding and baking cookies to put into gift bags for our guests, I decided I should check out Amazon and see what kind of cookbooks were due to come out this fall. Little did I know that I basically added every other book to my shopping cart and spent 2 hours reading about the fabulous cooks that are publishing books in the next few months.

I’m jazzed to say the least. Now that the wedding planning is over, and I can eat whatever I want again because I don’t need to fit into my dress, I’m so excited to get back into the kitchen and cook up a storm!
So, here’s the deal. I picked my 10 most favorite titles that are due out this fall. Some of them were just released, and others are coming out in the next month or so. And I love each and every one of them. And can’t wait to get my hands on them too! And I feel like you should have them too. So let’s do a little giveaway shall we? Just peruse the books that are below, and pick your most favorite one or the one that looks the most like you, leave a comment telling me which cookbook is totally your jam and when I get back from my honeymoon on September 10th, I’ll pick 3 winners and mail ya the books of your choice!!
Sound good?
Okay go!
Here’s the deal. I love Aida. She is one heck of an amazing person and a dear dear friend of mine. So you should totally have her book. Not to mention her recipes are spot on and I’m not just saying that. I was cooking her recipes way before we were friends. And I trust her recipes to a T!

Weelicious: 140 Fast, Fresh, and Easy Recipes by Catherine McCord
Have a family? Look no further. Catherine, another wonderful friend of mine, has got ya covered! Her recipes will please even the pickiest eater and turn them into an adventurous one! Plus she’s gorgeous. So it’s another must have!

Muy Bueno: Three Generations of Authentic Mexican Flavor
Don’t mind me while I disappear into this book for the next 3 months. It’s another gorgeous book with to die for recipes! With 3 generations of recipes going into this book, it’s sure to be a winner in your kitchen!

I’m obsessed with Yotam. I’m pretty sure if we met in real life we would be great friends. I mean, I love all of his food, so I would just assume that we’d be friends in real life too. Don’t ya think? 🙂 His last cookbook, Plenty, was the inspiration behind so many of my pre-wedding meals. His food is clean, healthy and always flavorful! I can’t wait to dig into his latest!

The Sprouted Kitchen: A Tastier Take on Whole Foods
Based on one of my all time favorite blogs, this cookbook dives into the whole grains, whole foods and whole lotta vegetables. Plus the photography is breathtaking!

I mean, who doesn’t know Deb and her fab recipes!! I can’t wait to get this one into my hot little hands and start cooking and baking up a storm a la Deb!

Hugo Ortega’s Street Food of Mexico
I think I was meant to spend half of the year in Mexico. I’m just obsessed with Mexican cuisine. (I mean, guacamole in particular – but I love everything else too!) This cookbook, by Hugo Ortega just screamed my name when I came across it on Amazon. I think a street food adventure in Mexico sounds like something I was meant to do!

True Food: Seasonal, Sustainable, Simple, Pure
Have you guys ever been to True Food Kitchen? It’s one of my favorite restaurants here in Santa Monica. Want to know why? Because the food is fabulous and you actually leave feeling good! You’re not weighed down in greasy foods or stuffed to the brim with oversized portions. It’s just perfect. And this book is going to fit perfectly in my kitchen.

Have you guys had those life changing oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies? Well, those are the genius brainchild of my friend Jenny Flake!! And she’s got a new book to go along with her fabulous blog! Jenny’s recipes are fun, playful, delicious and totally good for families! And the photos are gorgeous. Especially because my BFFs, Matt Armendariz and Adam Pearson did the photography and food styling! I worked on set as a food styling assistant too… and let me tell ya, I taste tested each recipe after it came from from it’s beauty shot. Soooo good!

Pure Vanilla: Irresistible Recipes and Essential Techniques
And last, but certainly not least, let’s end with something super sweet from my girl Shauna, she’s a total doll! 🙂 With recipes like Honey-Vanilla Granola Clusters, Vanilla Sea Salt Caramels, and Vanilla Mojitos, I think this is going to fit perfectly into my cookbook collection!

And there you have it. 10 cookbooks. 10 awesome cookbook authors. And a whole lotta new recipes for your Fall season! So what do you think? Which one stands out the most? Leave your thoughts below and I’ll pick winners once I’m back from soaking up every ounce of sun Mexico has to offer!!

Eryn “What a tough pick, those all look amazing. I’d love Muy Bueno for the Mexican side of my family & Jerusalem: A Cookbook for the Israeli side of my family! You should then come over for a potluck, our food is amazing.  Congratulations on your wedding. I will give you the advice that was given to me on my wedding day, by my favorite aunt: Love each other deeply. Even when it’s difficult, just love each other deeply. It will carry you through anything that comes your way.”

I love the sound of Keys To The Kitchen – I’m already a good cook but always looking to improve so anything that claims to help me become a more accomplished, adventurous cook must be good 🙂
Picky Palate!
Pure Vanilla for me. I always order fresh beans online and am always looking for new ways to use them. The cover of the book looks gorgeous. Happy honeymooning!
I wanna have the Muy Bueno Cookbook. The recipes on their blog are always fabulous! 🙂 Thanks for this awesome giveaway, and happy reading! 🙂
Picky Palate
Ooooohhh, The Sprouted Kitchen is right up my alley!
The Sprouted Kitchen sounds divine. Im always looking for new ways to use veggies 🙂
I love to bake and my favorite flavor is vanilla. So, I would love the Pure Vanilla cookbook by Shauna.
Wow, it’s so hard to choose just one! I think I’ll have to go with the Picky Palate Cookbook, though.
Enjoy your honeymoon 🙂
Jerusalem , A Cookbook. Would love this one!
Im most looking forward to Jerusalem. I love most of the dishes I’ve tried from Plenty.
Smitten Kitchen, I love her blog!
I would really like to win Muy Beuno. My husband is Mexican and would love if I learned new things to cook.
May Bueno’s Authentic Mexican cookbook sounds superb! I took a trip last year with my oldest and dearest girlfriends to Mexico. We found a restaurant that made the most delicious Huevos Rancheros and I could not get enough! I have since added “making killer Huevos Rancheros” on my food bucket list! My husband and children LOVE to eat Mexican food. This would be a winner for us!
Congratulations on your wedding! My husband and I celebrated 21 years this past June. Wishing you many years of happiness, health and love!
The Sprouted Kitchen looks like an amazing way to use fresh veggies in new ways!
Jerusalem: A Cookbook looks superfabulous! I would so love to learn about it, and ohgoodgolly Yotam is a genius! Plenty is one of my favorite cookbooks. 🙂
Many thanks!
Muy Bueno! I live in what I consider the Southwest and am always looking for more authentic cookbooks to try. Looks fantastic!
Smitten kitchen would be my choice
Love her style
I’m picking Weelicious or The Picky Palate..
hmmm….!
Street Food of Mexico just jumped out at me!!! I love eating street food everywhere I go, and the insights that you get into a culture and their relationship with different ingredients and foods when you snack at food carts, markets, and cantinas. I’ve always loved Mexican food, but after living in Guatemala where there are so many culinary influences similar to those found in Mexican cuisine (and eating at least one meal or snack a day on the street !), I became enthralled by it. I mean, ceviche and elote are just the beginning! I’m so excited about this book!
I like The Picky Palate cookbook, i love how Jenny Flake has the family friendly recipes. I also love how she makes the cooking fun. I would love to have this cookbook and share all the great recipes with my family and friends. Thanks 🙂
The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook would be my choice – but it was hard to decide! Enjoy your time away!!
I love Smitten Kitchen!! (but The Sprouted Kitchen looks fantastic too!!)
I’d love the Smitten Kitchen one. Hope you have a wonderful trip. Thanks for the give away.
I’d love the Smitten Kitchen ckbk. It’s been in my Amazon cart for a while.
You have three cookbooks on that list that are must buys when I have the spare money.
I’m a chemistry graduate student and a vegetarian, which is not really an unheard of combination, but it is one that lends itself to wanting to eat and cook a lot of delicious vegetables without much time to prepare the food.
Recently, I spent two weeks with my Turkish friend during a time turmoil for her. She had me there for moral support and insisted on cooking for me (eventually, I did get her to allow me to help with the cleaning and cooking, yay, small victories). Previously, I had enjoyed her cooking over shared lunches and a dinner party that featured amazing although complicated dishes, but spending time with her in that apartment, I got a much different impression of Turkish food. Yes, it can be really involved, but there are also incredibly quick ways to prepare filling and delicious meals made from fresh ingredients. It seemed more like a skill set than knowing recipes. My friend easily altered meat centric dishes for my dietary preferences. I saw her make yogurt, cheese, and simit with little effort. She inspired me, and I’ve expanded my cooking. Breakfast has opened up into a new world where I can have eggs with some bread with figs and cheese alongside cucumbers and tomatoes speckled with sumac. Lunch and dinner can be delicious and fast. Of course, she left me wanting to know more, and I’ve been seeking out other sources from which to learn.
Jerusalem caught my eye when I was on Amazon one day. It combines the flavors of Jerusalem and its history into one cookbook. I love reading about food as well as preparing it. Jerusalem is a melting pot of different culinary heritages, one of which is Turkish. I think that this book would be a lovely point to jump off into other cultures while expanding on something that I’ve already learned about.
Best of luck with your wedding!
The Picky Palate was right up my alley. My family calls me the pickiest eater and I think I have given birth to two picky eaters as well. I think the cheesy chicken pot pie and the nutella-banana stuffed french toast looked great. I would love to try all these recipes. Enjoy your honeymoon!
She’s not lying, she’ unbelievably picky. Putting sauce on pasta was a big leap for her. Forget any kind of seafood. Throw out any meal with meat cooked below charcoal level. Any kind of spice in food…not a chance.
I would go for Jerusalem: A Cookbook, its a mix of food I enjoy but don’t really make and would love to add it in. Maybe even find something different that the picky eater wife would enjoy.
Keys to the Kitchen sounds right up my alley. I love to cook and have the basics+ mastered. This book sounds like it would be great to getting to the next level of cooking !!
Also congrats on your wedding and hope the honeymoon was awesome !!
The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook!
I’d have to say I’m intrigued by the Picky Palate or the Weelicious books…so many fun recipes, so little time:)
Sprouted Kitchen, I’m always looking for new ways to cook with veggies!
So excited for Deb’s book!
IOh my, The Pure Vanilla cookbook just screams my name.
I’ve been lusting over The Sprouted Kitchen cookbook! What a wonderful giveaway. Thank you!
they all sound amazing! I would have to say smitten kitchen as Deb’s blog besides yours of course is the one i use the most! thanks!
I’ll have to go with Jerusalem: A Cookbook – it looks like another gorgeously scrumptious book from Ottolenghi!
Can’t wait for Deb’s Smitten Kitchen cookbook! It will save me having to search her blog for my fave recipes when I have the wonderful hard copy in my hands to splatter ingredients upon and dog-ear away!!!
Congratulations!
I am new to your blog, but loving it so far! I would love a copy of Smitten Kitchen!
Ohhh it’s a toss up between sprouted kitchen and Smitten Kitchen.
I cannot wait for the Smitten Kitchen cookbook!! Have been reading Deb’s blog for years. Happy honeymooning!

I’m so excited for the Smitten Kitchen cookbook. I’ve had my eye on it ever since she announced it!
Either True Food or Essential Keys to the kitchen. Both look very good. I have tried Aidia’s recipes before with much success however the True Food seems to mirror the way I have been trying to cook lately!!
I would love to have the Smitten Kitchen cookbook. I love Deb’s style
Enjoy Mexico! I’d love any one of those books, but I’m glad you did this post – there are a few great ones that I didn’t even know were coming out!
