Itās a long standing tradition here on WGC that the entire month of November is dedicated to all things Thanksgiving. That means recipe ideas for the big day, meals leading up to the big day, leftovers for after the feastā¦ you name it, weāve got it covered!
Today weāre talking about Friendsgiving. The past 3 years Iāve hosted 2-3 Thanksgivings per year. One or two with friends before the actual event and then one with my family the day of! Because why canāt we feast 2 times in the month of November?? Itās the right thing to do.
This year Iām teaming up with Anthropologie to put together the most epic Friendsgiving spread youāll ever see. The menu was out of control delicious, the table couldnāt have been more beautiful and Iām officially obsessed. Iād actually like to live in these photos for the rest of the yearā¦ how do I make that happen??
This spread was a major team effort! Matt helped with the table design and all the photography, Adam and I developed all the recipes and he styled them to perfection, Kasey pulled the clothes from Anthro because sheās a stylist and she knows whatās up, Marissa did the flowers and I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off until it was time to eat and then I went to town!!
We wanted a super chic but approachable table that really embodied the California girl vibe here on Whatās Gaby Cooking. That meant lots of blues, pops of gold and some really gorgeous food!
The menu consisted of:
- one of myĀ signature cheese platters
- roast acorn squashĀ
- persimmon salad with cilantro and pomegranate seeds
- pistachio crusted rack of lamb
- mascarpone mashed potatoesĀ
- pumpkin chocolate chip cake with chai spiced frosting
