No one I know&#8230; except for me a few years ago. WHAAAAAAT?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">You guys. I&#8217;m totally crazy. Why the heck didn&#8217;t I like Seven Layer Dip? Actually I can tell you why. Promise not to judge me? Sour Cream. It used to totally freak me out. I couldn&#8217;t even tell you why, but I used to freak out if it was even accidentally placed on my plate at dinner. Whaaaaat? Who am I?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Clearly, I&#8217;ve come a long way. And now I like sour cream. In fact it&#8217;s kinda awesome. Especially when you use to in 7 layer dip or in sour cream enchiladas. (Oh the <a href=\"http:\/\/homesicktexan.blogspot.com\/2009\/10\/sour-cream-chicken-enchiladas-recipe.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">enchiladas<\/a>. To die for. Another post on another day) But one thing that still totally freaks me out is olives. I think I overdosed on them as a child and they now haunt me. So instead of topping this 7 layer dip with olives, I&#8217;ve topped it with something way way better. Bacon. And let&#8217;s not even go into the fact that I didn&#8217;t eat bacon until I went to Culinary School a few years ago. I was living under a rock. I know. Clearly I&#8217;ve come a long way in the past few years in terms of my eating habits.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">So let&#8217;s get back to the dip. Bacon 7 Layer Dip. Bring it on Superbowl Sunday. I&#8217;m ready for ya!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">There really isn&#8217;t any perfect recipe for 7 layer dip, it&#8217;s more of an abstract art.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Here is mine, starting with the bottom layer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Re-fried beans mixed with a little salsa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Sour Cream.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Shredded Cheddar Cheese.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Scallions. Or chives if you&#8217;re feeling fancy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Guacamole. Lots and lots of Guacamole.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Chopped Cherry Tomatoes and a bit of salas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Bacon. Perfectly crisp chopped bacon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Layer those delicious ingredients on a large plate or whatever else you&#8217;d like and serve them up with a bag or two of tortilla chips and perhaps an ice cold beer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Who doesn&#8217;t like Seven Layer Dip.
