I remember gifting our extended family cows, goats and chickens for Christmas for as far back as I can remember! I’d like to think that somewhere out there, there’s a goat named Gaby. Or a llama. Either one would work for me.

So, when I had the opportunity to attend a Heifer event here in LA, I was thrilled! Not to mention the fact that I got to hold a baby goat, and it totally rocked my world. I may or may not have tried to smuggle the goat out of the party and take it with me. It didn’t end well for me. The baby goat was fine.

How I can be this comfortable holding a baby goat, but I’m hesitant to get a dog, is beyond me. For those of you who are unfamiliar with them, when you donate and help fund a project your money is going towards gifts of livestock, training for the community and veterinary care which is needed to make these gifts successful.
